And she could handle the fact that the entire precinct thought she and Castle were dating. Even though they so were not, how could everyone not see that? Well, as long as people didn't start making comments about it, it would have been fine. But guess what they did now. Of course, the entire precinct had read Heat Wave. And now, they weren't shutting up about page 105. She could've told Castle in advance that this would happen, but he wouldn't have listened to her. He never did. So now, everytime they were together, everyone would look at them, expecting them to kiss, jump in the nearest closet, whatever. And she wanted anything but that. Seriously. He wasn't her boyfriend. No matter what they might think.
