Hi! I’m brumeier, and we’re still having fun taking a look at the day-to-day lives of our characters. Today's theme is ANIMAL KINGDOM! Humans and animals can't help being part of each other's lives. How do your characters interact with animals, and vice versa?

Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.

The purr of a cat has been shown to help ease depression. Alfred might have doubted the articles he’s read concerning that proven fact if it wasn’t for the simple facts of his own experience. Nothing reassures quite like a cat, he knows, especially when she’s wrapped around her chosen human.

He cracks Master Bruce’s door open and looks in again. He can’t quite hear Selina’s purr from the hallway, but he has no doubt she is purring deeply and lovingly right in his dearest charge’s ear. She’s wrapped herself around Bruce so tightly that she’s like a second skin underneath his black, silk sheets that prevent his butler from seeing anything more than just the way their frames are hooked around one another and Selina’s mouth resting right next to Bruce’s ear. He smiles, seeing the two of them together, and backs away.

Closing the door silently behind him, Alfred heads back to the kitchen to prepare a special meal. Tonight’s guest deserves the finest fish and sweet milk topped off with just a touch of catnip. He knows Master Bruce has plans for tonight -- he always has plans --, but he knows, too, that he’s been failing in his constant struggle against the darkness that all minds and hearts feel at times. He needs a night in, and the best medication any doctor could possibly prescribe has already arrived.

Already beaming, Alfred begins to hum as well as he bustles around the kitchen, preparing their dinner. Neither of them need to know that he was the anonymous tip to the Catwoman that Batman was missing her companionship. Selina doesn’t need to know he sent for her or why, and Master Bruce still refuses to understand that he has always had his best intentions at heart. Regardless, Alfred knows, by morning’s light, the darkness will have lifted entirely from Bruce, and his smile and good heart will finally be successfully restored, all from a cat’s purr, if not her kiss.

Bear could never understand why, when his two owners clearly loved each other, they were so uncertain about showing it. They were so careful, and if one made half an approach the other would take half a step backwards. It was completely stupid. Bear could see they wanted to kiss each other, and finally he decided it was up to him to ensure they did. So, when Harold was leaning over, tending to yet another wound John had acquired (and why the man couldn’t be more careful Bear didn’t know), Bear pushed Harold and he fell, his lips meeting John’s.
