Any, Any M/M Meeting Santa
"Will you stop!" Danny hissed at him. Looking up into his husband's eyes, he saw excitement mixed with mischief and a smile spread across his face. This would be their first picture with Santa. He allowed himself to feel the excitement and clasped Steve's hand.
Steve looked down at Danny. "What's taking so long?" Steve craned his neck trying to see past the people in front of them. "One kid is just sliding off Santa's lap," he said and gave Danny's hand a squeeze.
"Shouldn't be too long now," Danny said as the line moved forward. There were two other families in front of them and one of them were just settling their little girl onto Santa's lap.
The girl took one look at Santa and started crying, squirming to get away from him. After a few minutes and several attempts at trying to calm her and get pictures, her parents gave up. The little girl was lifted into her father's arms and carried away.
The next family stepped forward and plopped their son down. He smiled and whispered something to Santa before smiling for his picture to be taken.
"We're next," Steve said as he turned to Danny. They waited to be called up, eager to get there. The woman dressed as an elf motioned for them to come over. Danny bent down and picked up their sleeping daughter from her stroller.
He and Steve stepped forward and handed Sage to Santa. The elf helped fluff Sage's red dress before taking several pictures.
"Would you like one of the entire family?" The elf motioned for Steve and Danny to stand on either side of Santa. They both smiled and looked down lovingly at their sleeping daughter as the camera clicked away."All set," she said. "You can pick your photos up in a few minutes," she said as she led them away from Santa.
Putting Sage back into her stroller, they walked to the photo pickup area and waited to see their photos. Another elf waited on them, bringing up their pictures. "You guys are adorable," the elf said.
They picked out one of Sage sleeping in Santa's arms and then one of all of them with Santa. "These are perfect," Danny said, looking at the photos in his hand.
"No, you are, Sage is," Steve said before pulling Danny in for a hug and a chaste kiss. "I love you both more than I could ever put into words."
Danny smiled up at him. "Sap," he said and chuckled. "Come on, let's go home." He turned and started pushing the stroller toward the exit. He stopped and looked over his should at Steve. "You coming?"
Steve stood, lost in thought as he watched his family. He shook his head and smiled. "Yeah. Come on, let's go."

Fill: Original (superheroes!)
(This is not the worst part. The worst part is knowing that it's your sister who is heading towards that tornado, fighting that maniac...)
But you were going to go to that Christmas party and sing along to Mariah together. You are wearing the cutest berry red dress, heels that you can just about dance in. You have just finished putting on a party face. And your sister stands you up for the kind of reason you can't complain about.
(Really. It's her protégé, who can make things blow up with their hands, on their quest to hunt down a man who may or may not have been involved in killing their parents. You said, 'Fine, of course. Check in regularly. I love you.')
You can't waltz into the party because you were meant to be your sister's plus one, but you cast a glance at yourself in the mirror. You look amazing, except for the downward tilt to your lips and the phone in your hand.
(Stupid phone. Stupid heroic big sis with her stupid superspeed and ability to fly. She always had a protective streak a mile wide.)
And then you remember another face. His face when you told him you had plans with your sister tonight. How you'd felt compelled to blather that you hadn't spent much time with her lately and you never felt Christmassy until you'd belted out 'you-hoo-hoo, baby' along with her. Because he has such a cute face and you've been wanting him to ask you something like this for weeks, it's just that his timing wasn't great. So you finished your rambling explanation with 'Rain check?' and he smiled.
You smile now, and call him. "Hi, it's me. My plans have changed," you start.

FILL: X-Men - Kitty Pryde
Kitty probably shouldn't have been complaining. Growing up, not nearly as many students had a loving family to go home to, holidays or not.
Absently, she pulled her phone from her pocket. Other than a group text that barely skimmed, there were no new messages. All the goyishe greetings and well-wishes tended to end after the third night.
She placed her phone down and turned her eyes back to the menorah. The sun had set two hours prior, though Kitty had been too busy analyzing enrollment forms and making sure that final grades were submitted to notice.
Oh well, better late than never.
It wasn't her grandfather's menorah, the one that he had reused every year since his childhood. Nor was it the tacky kind shaped like animals or painted in every pastel shade imaginable that her mother preferred. It was just something that she had found while rummaging around in storage, slightly rusted and caked in dust.
Well, no use complaining.
The prayers came to her lips as easily as a childhood lullaby. Her words echoed off the wall, wrapping themselves around her like a lover's embrace.
Only a single light bulb lit the small back room. Outside, she could see someone walking their dog and a family stopping to take a picture.
The match lit easily, setting the shamash ablaze. Carefully, she grabbed it and dotted six of its neighbors.
Tomorrow, she could actually do this on time. Maybe whip up some latkes beforehand and have something to munch on. For now, though, she merely watched as the wax candles seemed to collapse under their own weight, shrinking like mounds of snow suddenly exposed to the sun. Then the flames themselves burnt out, turning to smoke in the air.
