"What the hell are you talking about?" Eliot tossed his head. "Are you calling me a communist, because you're like fifty years too late - "
"It's a TV show - No, I'm not calling you a communist, Eliot, it means - like, you're Pinkie and I'm the Brain, and we take over the world?"
Eliot stared at him. "I don't have a TV."
"You don't - dude. And are you saying you were a communist in the fifties? 'Cause that's impossible, I mean, how old are you?"
"Twenty-six, and yes, that's what I'm saying."
Hardison looked at him for a long moment. "Okay, unless you have a time machine, which considering you don't have a TV is totally unlikely - "
Eliot raised an eyebrow.
"You're kidding me." Hardison threw up his hands. "You are fucking with me right now. You think that 'cause I watch Doctor Who and and the Twilight Zone you can just pull one over on me - "
"Hardison." Eliot said, using his voice that said shut the fuck up and stop pointing a gun at me. "I ain't messing with you."
Hardison crossed his arms. "Prove it."
Eliot sighed, and stepped out from the corner where they were hiding. He clotheslined one guy, broke the second guy's ribs. Hardison was already moving past him, ducking through the door with his phone in his hand when he heard Eliot growl, "After we're done."
After they were done, Hardison followed Eliot our of the Leverage Headquarters. "I swear to God, Eliot, if this is some elaborate joke - "
"If you don't shut up right now I'm not going to show you and cause a paradox that'll blow up half the world or something."
"Probably half of space-time - wait, who told you that?"
Eliot shrugged, turning into an alley. "Guy that I stole the time machine from."
"You stole - dude."
"What? He knew I would."
"How?"
Eliot turned, walking backwards. "I'm tellin' him right now."
Hardison stopped dead. "Oh." He said. "Oh."
Eliot reached something half clothed in shadow, and dug a key out of his pocket. Hardison stared. It was square, and blue, and - yep - right across the top. POLICE BOX.
Total crack.
