Thursday: 100 Words on Jobs
Jun. 14th, 2018 12:29 amHi! I’m
brumeier, and this week we’re going to be filling themes using 100 words or any multiple of 100. Today’s theme is JOBS, anything and everything about looking for or holding down or losing a job!
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Stargate Atlantis, John Sheppard/Rodney McKay, working in R&D at a toy company
+ Sherlock (BBC), Sherlock Holmes +/ John Watson, Sherlock is the leader of a cult
+ Hawaii Five-0, Steve McGarrett/Danny Williams, one is a journalist undercover on the set of a porno movie and the other is one of the actors
+ Any, Any, getting an amazing job offer the same day they were fired
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2016 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2018-06-14 01:32 pm (UTC)She’d picked John’s design.
“This from the guy who won the last three design picks,” John drawled.
Rodney rolled his eyes. “I have a niece. I conduct market research.”
“You mean experiment on her.”
“Says the man who borrows Evan’s nephews in addition to his own nieces.”
“Gender neutral toys are all the rage.”
Rodney growled. “You frustrate me.”
“Oh yeah? What’re you gonna do about it?”
Rodney checked left, checked right, pinned John to the wall. “Keep you quiet is what.” And he kissed John.

Date: 2018-06-14 01:37 pm (UTC)The woman behind him in the coffee line raised her eyebrows. “Really?”
“Oh yeah. Big business. You never know what’s lurking in the shadows, waiting to gnaw on you and rip your world out from under you.” He smiled.
“Is that how you -?”
“Lost me eye? Yep.”
The woman blinked. “You must have some stories.”
“Like you wouldn’t believe.” Xander smiled at her. She thought he was being funny, class clown all grown up. She didn’t know how many times he’d almost lost the chance to grow up, how many times he’d helped save the world.

“But can you handle crazy?”
Pepper said, “Mr. Stark likes his whiskey two fingers on the rocks, I’ll check IDs on any woman who smiles at him, I know where all the fire extinguishers and emergency exits are in case of a lab accident, and I have seven older brothers. I’ll be fine.”
The man eyed her. “Well then. Welcome to Stark Industries. I’m sure Tony will love you.”
