Montag: Vampires
Jul. 23rd, 2018 12:01 amWell, hello there! I’m your host for this week,
sherlockian_syn. Today's theme is Vampires! Prompts can be from fandoms with vampires, crossovers with those fandoms, or maybe fandoms that you'd like to add vampires to. As long as the prompt relates to those pesky creatures of the night who are out for blood, go wild!
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Stargate Atlantis, John Sheppard/Rodney McKay, AU where Rodney is a reluctant vampire hunter and John is his next target
+ Ocean's 8, ensemble, movie night with the girls and somebody picked Twilight
+ Any, any, Transylvanian Concubine by Rasputina
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2018 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Totally inspired by the Italian cook-killing scene, because God damn.

Date: 2018-07-23 06:28 pm (UTC)Stephen’s world turned upside down. Shattered. He was sinking. He was drowning. He was -
He was dying.
Stephen was pretty sure he died. The universe was mirrors, fractals, all the colors of the rainbow and beyond the spectrum that was visible to the human eye.
And then the universe was agony, pain, hunger, thirst, a viscerally gnawing sensation that was want, was lust, was starvation -
“Open your eyes.”
Stephen blinked. He sat bolt upright, scanned his surroundings. He was lying on a cot in a basement apartment in an old brick building in Queens. It was early in the morning, traffic was heavy. He could hear impatient car horns, smell the dizzying exhaust fumes. Most of the tenants in the building were gone save the elderly woman on the fourth floor, who had a heart murmur and was napping.
“Focus. Throttle back your senses.”
Stephen blinked again, and he realized. There was no way he should be able to hear someone’s heartbeat on the fourth floor.
“Focus on me.”
A little boy was sitting on a chair beside Stephen’s bed. He was wearing an impeccable three-piece suit, had polished black wingtip shoes and a shining gold watch chain. He was dark-haired, pale-skinned, and had bright golden eyes.
He looked all of eleven years old.
He had no heartbeat.
Stephen recoiled sharply, scrambled backward across the narrow bed and slammed into the wall. He saw stars.
“Calm down, Dr. Strange.”
“You - you’re dead!”
“So are you.”
Stephen remembered the car crash, the shattering glass, the burning pain in his hands. He looked down at his hands. They were unscathed. Impossible. How -? Then he remembered the inexplicable phenomena he’d witnessed, the colors and shapes and fractals, fracture surfaces and reflections upon reflections -
“Is this heaven?” he asked, dumbly.
“This is a basement in Queens,” the boy said. “You are, technically, undead. I am not the vampire who sired you, but I am responsible for the one who did, so I am taking responsibility for you. First, you must feed. You’ll be unable to hold rational conversation until your hunger is sated.”
“V-vampire?” What Stephen was feeling wasn’t hunger or thirst. It was something deeper, fiercer, more primal.
The boy raised one hand, beckoned to someone behind him.
Two young men, ordinary-looking, with dark brown hair, dark eyes, and matching tattoos - one with a red sleeve on his right arm, the other with a black sleeve on his left arm, tribal spikes and swirls - escorted another young man between them.
