Friday: Broken Things

Hello, everyone. I’m dreamsofspike and today's theme is Broken Things. Prompts can be anything related to something or someone being broken. Maybe someone has broken a promise, or a character has been through so much pain and trauma that they're broken. Maybe someone's trust has been broken ... or maybe their chains have been broken. Take it where you will. :)

Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!

Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]

Sherlock heard the sound of cupboard doors banging.

“Surely you haven’t!”

The top came off the kitchen bin.

“Sherlock, how could you?”

“It was an accident,” Sherlock said.

“You didn’t tell me,” John replied.

“You weren’t here.”

“You could have told me when I got home. That was my favourite mug. And you know it was.”

“You can replace it. I’m sure they still sell it somewhere.”

“It had memories. You can’t replace those.”

“Of the time you threw the mug at me and the handle came off. Then there’s the chip from when Lestrade knocked a beer bottle against it and the second chip when you dropped it in the sink because Mycroft had annoyed you. Need I go on?”

“All right, those aren’t exactly the most notable of memories. But still, I did like that mug.”

“I’ll buy you a new one and you can make more memories. And this time I will remember to duck!”
