Heya, folks, seasons greetings and all that crap. It be Friday, so we get some room to play today! The sky is the limit, as it were, except for a few rules we need to just remind y'all about:
NO spoilers in prompts for at least one week after airing. Also, if your response contains spoilers, please warn for them and leave at least 3 empty lines before starting your fic.
Also, to make sure everyone gets a chance to prompt... no more than five prompts in a row, no more than 3 per fandom. You can always come back and prompt more after yours have been answered.
Please remember to be kind to you code monkeys (who work hard at a job that is time consuming) and code your prompts properly (fandom, pairing, prompt).
Examples:
Numb3rs, Colby/Charlie, The first time Colby called him "Professor"
Criminal Minds/Leverage, Reid/Eliot, "It's getting hot in here..."
Don't see anything that whets your appetite? Check out our lonely prompts archive here on delicious for some amazing ideas that just haven't been given homes yet.
Also, gird your loins, because next week is the start of yet another Quarterly Year Challenge, where we give you no prompts but instead offer lovely prizes to get you to write some of the prompts piling up in our archives.
Ready? Prompt!

Date: 2009-12-11 03:01 pm (UTC)Firefly/Torchwood: Simon/Jack
Date: 2009-12-12 07:32 am (UTC)Mal doesn't need Simon in his newest heist, so he wanders through the town alone, trying his best to look inconspicuous. He's had enough trouble for a lifetime.
Then he hears a shrill cry, and turns to see a big, coarse man beating a child with his belt. Simon swallows back bile and struggles with himself. He can't do anything to interfere, but he can't not do anything to interfere.
The decision is made for him when another man leaps out of seemingly nowhere, roaring with outrage, to barrel into the abuser and pin him to the ground. Simon rushes forward to calm the child and look after his wounds. Out of the corner of his eye, he can see the stranger pummel the child's tormentor into submission.
The child's grandmother appears, tearful with relief and gratitude. "It wasn't me," says Simon quickly. "You ought to be thanking - " He turns around, but the stranger is walking away.
He races forward to catch up with the man, and for the first time he can see his face. He is tall and beautiful, his old coat dusty and his blue eyes full of pain. His cheek is slowly purpling with fresh bruises.
Simon reaches out, his fingers almost brushing the man's cheek. "Wait," he says. "Let me fix that."
The man stops, and the great coat swirls around his heels. The look on his face reminds Simon of the myths he'd learned in school of gods incarnate, walking the earth. "Don't." The man keeps walking away; Simon thinks of the oath he took when he became a doctor, and doesn't follow.
