Date: 2019-08-31 01:49 pm (UTC)Fill: Romani detective fic, Andy/James/Zayne
Date: 2019-09-01 12:51 am (UTC)Seeing Zayne heading toward him, James was tempted to crack a joke, but a closer look at Zayne's expression put stop to that. He had seen his lover in various states of anger, but his expression clearly said somebody had done something to someone he cared about and they needed to pay. And pay dearly.
"What's going on, Zayne?" James quietly asked. "Who do we need to kill and dump in Lake Mead?"
"Zek won't say who, but he had a run in with a xenophobic asshole," Zayne growled. "Told me to drop it, but I can't. I hate to see Andy hurting because some jerk doesn't believe in diversity."
"I think I have a pretty good idea who you are referring to because I happened to have overhear him the other morning ranting to another officer about how hard it was to be a white cop in this city," James told Zayne. "Let's wait til he's off-duty before we administer a little justice, and most of all don't let Andy or the girls know what we intend to do."
"Gotcha," Zayne said as he felt his anger receding. "I knew I could count on you."
"Love you too, cowboy," James muttered as he spied Andy entering the narcotics bullpen. "Now, get out of here. Some of us have work to do."
"Feeling the love, narco," Zayne tossed back figuring that Andy was standing behind him.
"Zayne, stop pestering Jay about that matter we just discussed," Andy told Zayne. "It's a non-issue."
"I wasn't bothering Jay about that. I came down to ask him what he wanted for dinner," Zayne lied.
"I think I told you that we were going to Ricardo's because Andy was in the mood for eggplant parmasean," James replied covering Zayne's lie.
"Oh yeah, that's right " Zayne said with a smack to the forehead. "I forgot."
"Of course, you did," Andy remarked sounding like he didn't believe anything his lovers just told him.
"I did forget, Zek," Zayne earnestly retorted. "It was suppose to be a surprise. Surprise!"
Andy shook his head in disbelief. "Come on," he sighed. "We still have work to do before quitting time."
"He's such a slave driver," Zayne whined.
"Behave for the rest of your shift and I might be convinced to buy you dessert," James told him.
"You're on," Zayne agreed.
"Good. Now shoo."
Zayne stuck his tongue out at James before Andy coaxed him back to the homicide bullpen.
*&*
Hours later, Zayne and James left Andy's house determined to show a certain prejudiced officer the err of his ways, because when you hurt one of them you hurt all of them.
*&*
The following morning at roll call a certain officer was found gagged, tied up and dressed up in humilating attire outside of the police station.
He ended up being quite the object lesson and had resigned from the department by the end of the day.
*&*
Andy fixed his lovers an extra special dinner as a thank you, and nothing else was ever said about the incident.
And, they lived happily ever after.

Date: 2019-09-01 03:15 pm (UTC)I was thinking about this prompt, too, but it wouldn't have been any of the usual suspects going ballistic. :D Might still have to write it now.
RE: Re: Fill: Romani detective fic, Andy/James/Zayne
Date: 2019-09-01 06:30 pm (UTC)Thought about twisting it and seeing Andy get all protective of his boys, but they weren't having that. Even thought about including the girls in the revenge planning, but got told off for even thinking about asking them.
Maybe, they will play nice with "mom".
