Monday: Soulmark AU

marlex and today's theme is Soulmark AUs. This trope seems pretty popular in the MCU fandom (at least that’s where I first encountered it). I’m not sure how widespread it is, but I figured it would be a fun way to kick off the week.
Essentially, the way it works, everyone (or nearly everyone) is born with a Soulmate (or possibly more than one, or maybe a romantic soulmate or a platonic soulmate). That’s one of the great things, it’s pretty flexible. In case you’re not familiar with this, the most common version of the trope I’ve come across is one in which you have a Soulmark (a tattoo of sorts) consisting of the first words your Soulmate will speak to you. They have the same on their body (usually in the others handwriting no less). You can be born with it, or it can appear when your Soulmate is born. Again, quite a bit of flexibility. Thus, when you hear somebody utter your words, and you say theirs back to them, you know you’ve found your soulmate.
I’ve also seen over versions of the Soulmark trope, including counters and the like.
Prompts could be suggested situations or even the words someone was born with. Have fun!
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!

“Hello, gorgeous,” he mutters.
As if she heard him, she glances up. They make eye contact through the rifle-sight.
There’s a hot buzz of pain across the back on his left wrist. Frowning, he glances down, only to see that his soulmark has turned from dark brown to crimson. Her? Impossible! But across the way, she’s pushed up her sleeve and is rubbing her wrist.
Hardly believing he’s doing it, Clint breaks down the rifle and stows it back in its case.
By the time he reaches street level, she’s waiting for him. Up close, her hair is redder, her eyes bluer and her poise makes him feel like a big, clumsy oaf by comparison.
He says something in Russian, and he wilts. “My name is Clint Barton,” he says, and she stops.
“You’re American?” she asks in disbelief.
He nods.
“And you were sent to kill me?” Her English is flawless.
“Can’t do that….” He shows her his wrist, the little inch-long mark that looks like an arrow.
It’s her turn to nod and display her wrist. She looks troubled, and he has a feeling that being conflicted isn’t something she’s used to. “What are we going to do?”
“Well, I’m not going to kill you, that’s for sure.”
“But…the people who sent you…won’t they be angry?”
“Not if I bring you in.” He’ll take on Coulson and even Fury if he has to for her. “I won’t force you, but they’d only send someone else. Come with me if you want to live.”

Even then, the ones he had truly loved had nothing on the knowledge that one day his true love would come and he would know it, as all vampires do. So he waited his turn, saw many a vampires find their one true mate and awaited patiently for his to arrive.
All he could do was try and meet as many people as he could till he found the one he was searching for. The one that was meant to be his.
Over the years he had wondered who his soulmate would be, what they would be like. But in all his imagination he could have never foreseen this.
Jason Stackhouse, sookie's brother, was nothing like hed pictures in his mind, he wasn’t the ugliest, but he had had better looking before, and definitely more intelligent, but he couldn’t resist the feeling that would come over him, the intense connection pulling them together and insuring they belonged. It was like nothing Eric had ever felt before and he was powerless to try and break free from it, so he inhales and finally walks up to the one he may not have chosen for himself, even ever thought would be his soulmate, but is none the less, and gives his lover a kiss that feels like a kiss he has never ever had before, a true soulmates kiss..... a feeling of being whole and complete comes over him.
