Thursday: Random Word Count
Oct. 10th, 2019 06:00 amHello, everyone. It’s
marlex for my penultimate day, and today the theme is Random Wordcounts. I like adding a bit of randomness when writing stories, and I’ve used a random number generator in several different ways over the years. Random.org is a nifty little site, and if you go there, right up top on the right side is a random number generator.
For today, prompts can be anything, but each prompt should come with a set wordcount (or multiples) which the story must match between 1 and 100.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ MCU, Darcy Lewis/Steve Rogers, secret relationship (91 words)
+ The Walking Dead, Beth Green/Daryl Dixon, wedding (23 words)
+ Lost, Claire Littleton/Charlie Pace, music (10 words)
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2019 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2019-10-10 10:53 am (UTC)Fill: Original fic Jimmy Bogart/Desmond Richard
Date: 2019-10-11 01:09 am (UTC)Sex for Jimmy was like riding a bike.
If he fell off, he got back on and started pedaling until they he off again.
Sex for Desmond was life affirming; something that was precious and needed to be cherished.
When these two came together for the first time, the sex was mind blowing and brought to them both an earth shattering epiphany.
Jimmy stopped his endless roaming and one night stands and settled down.
Desmond stopped his constant searching for his soulmate because he finally found him in Jimmy.
When they finally were able to admit to and voice their feelings for each other, sex had been on the menu almost every night they were together.
Sex went from being a slam, bam, thank you ma'am affair to being slow and passionate with the desire to please one another.

Toph grinned, teeth sharp, feet kicking. "I can wait."

Date: 2019-10-11 12:59 am (UTC)"John." Helen's steps echoed around the basement as she descended the stairs. "What are you doing?"
"Rebinding a book." He loosened the screw one quarter-turn.
"You and your books." Helen leaned on his shoulder.
John leaned back, counterpoint, and smiled.
