Starting off Monday with some kindness
Nov. 11th, 2019 08:52 amHello, everyone. I’m
schweinsty and today's theme is kindness. Prompts should have something involving the general theme of kindness--characters being kind, characters having something kind done to/for them--or even titles, quotes, etc involving kindness--have fun with the prompt :).
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Prodigal Son, Jessica Whitly + Gil Arroyo + Jackie Arroyo, Sometimes she hates how kind they are to Malcolm
+ Stargate: SG-1, Daniel Jackson + Minor Stargate Personnel, His colleagues--military and civilian--help without asking whenever he needs it, regardless of why
+ Push, Nick Gant + Cassie Holmes, Nick makes sure to celebrate her birthdays, even when they’re broke and on the run
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2019 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2021-07-28 12:04 pm (UTC)Step two, whip up a bar-worthy fancy cocktail. Nick knows his way around the bottle so he can flex his mixologist skills and he gets tipsy just enough to be so bold enough that he lets her talk him into jamming out to Karaoke. He cannot sing to save his life, but she is all happy giggles and a big grin as she joins in, both singing to their hearts delight.
Last but not east, the birthday cake…of cupcake. Nick cannot cook to save his life, but he does whip up four puffy scrumptious vanilla buttercream cupcakes that are so delicious that one bite and she is grinning like a kid on Christmas morning. They sit out under the stars that twinkle like diamonds as they eat their cupcakes and when she presses a little kiss to his cheek he smiles kindheartedly.
Sure, it may not have been a big part blowout with a lot of friends and presents, but it was enough. It was all from the heart, Nick's kindness gave her the best day of her life, and she could not ask for a better friend then him.

Date: 2019-11-11 04:15 pm (UTC)Not that she goes out all that often but sometimes, she does need a little time to herself.
And while Elycia can stay with the neighbor sometimes, that isn't always for the best - being that Mrs. Stunkel was an elderly woman and Elycia could be a very rambunctious girl.
But there is a list of numbers for Gracia to call if she needs help - with Elycia, with plumbing, with the furnace, home repairs, lawn work, whatever she needs.
Sometimes she calls one of those numbers:
Major Armstrong is one of Elycia's favorite babysitters. He always brings art supplies and they proudly show off their creations when Gracia returns.
Winry Rockbell is another favorite and a plus is the pie or cookies or whatever she and Elycia have baked whenever Gracia comes home.
Colonel Mustang - Roy - is an awkward but beloved member of the household. He tells Elycia stories about her beloved father and if when he leaves, his eyes are a little bit red, well, Gracia is too polite to mention it.
Sciezca brings a armload of books and she and Elycia read and discuss them.
Gracia wouldn't trade them for anything.

Date: 2019-11-11 07:11 pm (UTC)The last day of the week brings a heavy downpour of chilly autumn rain, and Malcolm doesn’t bother with an umbrella. Drenched in wet cloths and soggy socks, the end of the week left him with a terrible cold. It was just his luck that he got sick. He tried to play it off, he knew he worried Gil, and he doesn’t want to cause him, or the team, any more distress. They worried enough about him already.
Therefore, when another case landed on Gil's desk, Malcolm was a bit in denial; he was not sick! True, he was running a fever and had the sniffles, but he played it off. He was just worn down, exhausted from lack of sleep and long exhausting days.
When the body aches started, he brushed it off—or rather Gil brushed him off when the older man caught him after he nearly face-planted into the cup of coffee he was holding. His eyes dropped sleepily, and he was sluggish, stiff, sore. No worry at all. However, when the cough, a phlegmy, dry rattle in his chest came around, he still played the fool. He just had a tiny cold...No big deal; a glass of orange juice to flood his body with vitamin C, and he would be just fine and dandy.
When the sneezing came, and the scratchy throat and terrible, miserable session of icky sickness melts in his bones, he cannot deny the truth any longer. Not that he was fooling Gil; the older man simply took him by the arm, “come on, Kiddo, let’s get you home.”
Malcolm had a low fever by then and had no fight in him. He snoozed half-way home, barely waking when Gil gently ushered him into the apartment. He crawls into bed and cuddles into the soft sheets, making grabby hands for the cozy blanket Gil kindly gives him.
“Thank you, Gil,” he groans, miserable, cheeks flushed and his sweat-damp hair sticking to his forehead. He is sleep before Gil can bring him a cup of soothing, hot tea with honey and lemon.
Gil smiles and sets the drink aside, it will be there for Malcolm when he wakes. Leaning down, he kisses Malcolm’s forehead, wraps him in a blanket and wishes him sweet dreams. He doesn’t leave, he picks up his favorite book from the shelf and sets beside Malcolm; the kiddo is sleeping peacefully, will not hear a word Gils says, and yet Gils reads out loud to him, hoping that tonight only blissfully dreams will find his son’s dreams.
