Dydd Iau: Wardrobe Malfunction
Jan. 2nd, 2020 05:30 amHello, everyone. I’m
evil_little_dog and today's theme is Wardrobe Malfunction. Prompts should have something to with clothes!
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Buffyverse, Buffy Summers(/Angel), She misses his leather jacket (and him) some days.
+ Iron Man, Pepper Potts+/Tony Stark, She never knows when he might drop trou.
+ Star Trek TOS, James T Kirk+Leonard McCoy, "How many shirts did you go destroy on the surface of this planet?"
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2019 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2020-01-02 06:02 pm (UTC)Fill -- Say Yes to the Dress
Date: 2020-01-02 11:19 pm (UTC)In despair, he’s offered to get her all of them, so she can make up her mind at leisure. (Nope, it doesn’t work that way, the dresses in the stores are just samples, the real one has to be custom-made and apparently takes months to complete.) Or he could hire a designer for her--any designer she wants, and they can work on it in the privacy of the Stark’s estate (if he could just get the stuck-up fashionistas to return his freaking calls…). No, she’s sure the perfect dress is out there, she just hasn’t found it yet. What they don’t tell you when you have kids late in life is how little stamina you’re going to have when it comes to keeping up with them. Morgan is an athletic twenty-five, and he’s almost forgotten what it’s like to have her boundless energy.
“You look beautiful in all of them,” Tony tells her as they exit the latest nuptial emporium for lunch. This would be so much easier if Pepper was here to take over this parental duty--but she’s got something or other going on with the World Security Council and is stuck in Zurich til further notice.
Morgan’s expression shows a decided resemblance to her mother as she considers. “It isn’t that I don’t know what I like…the trouble is, there are a lot of things I like. And there’s no way to put it all together without looking like an explosion in a unicorn factory.”
Tony chuckles at the visual, but stops when she says, “There’s a place out in Denver that might have what I want.”
The thought of more hours in the jet and another interminable parade of white dresses sends a stab of anxiety through him and he blurts, “I’ve got a better idea--let me build you a dress!”
Morgan lets loose an amused laugh. “Don’t be silly, Daddy--you can’t build a dress like you build a suit of armor!”
“The hell I can’t,” he says, stung. “It’s all just programming the nano-tech--I could make you the dress of your dreams--I could make you ten dresses!--all built into a nano-tech generator that you could control, so you could walk down the aisle with a twenty-foot train, stand at the altar in a fit-and-flare and do the receiving line in a flapper dress.” This expedition has taught him more than he ever wanted to know about the nuances of wedding wear. “If you decided you wanted to change anything, you could--the length, the color, the style--and you wouldn’t ever have to worry that it might get dirty or wouldn’t fit right. Come on, Princess--what do you say?”
There’s that thoughtful-Pepper look again. “It would certainly be one of a kind,” she comments. “Not just another cookie-cutter white dress. And with the right programming, I could probably reuse it for other formal events for years and years--that’s very environmentally friendly!”
Tony exhales slowly with relief. It sounds like she’s going to go for it!
Morgan gets the last word. “I need a cheeseburger to help me think--we can talk about it over lunch.”
