Monday: Non-romantic Relationships
Jan. 13th, 2020 09:29 amGood morning, I'm
drabblewriter, and I'll be your host this week. Our first theme is non-romantic relationshipst. Prompts can be anything having to do with relationships that are not romantic in nature.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Star Wars, Finn & Rey, QPR
+ Shameless, any Gallagher, always having a sibling to watch your back
+ Any, any, adopting a child
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2020 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2020-01-14 08:58 pm (UTC)By now, he’s used to it. Sometimes he almost forgets she isn’t his younger sister. The woman at the concession stand is just the latest to conclude that Morgan Stark and Peter Parker are siblings, and he’s fine with that. She’s a good kid.
“How about it, munchkin?” he asks her. “Do you want M&Ms or something?”
“Can I have Gummi Bears?”
“Of course.”
Peter collects their loot and leads the way to their movie. The cool thing about having an alleged little sister is, he can take her to see movies he’d be too embarrassed to buy a ticket for solo. Guys in high school aren’t supposed to want to watch Disney and Pixar films--they’re supposed to be for little kids--but saying he’s taking his kid sister is a free pass, like he’s doing a good deed at great personal sacrifice.
Which is funny, because he downright enjoys spending time with Morgan. She’s bright and bubbly and there are occasional flashes of Tony. It doesn’t hurt that Tony finances these expeditions, sliding Peter enough cash to pay for tickets, treats, tie-in merchandise, lunch and carfare--he could take a freaking Uber, but unless they’re pressed for time, it’s usually the subway. And although he doesn’t stint on getting Morgan anything she likes, he always winds up with at least fifty bucks in change that Tony waves off with an airy, “Keep it, you earned it.”.
The movie is fun; it’s geared toward 8-year olds, but Morgan has no problem keeping up with it, and there are enough bits aimed at adults that he’s engaged as well.
Afterward, when the lights come back up after the film, Morgan starts chattering happily. “If I had a spaceship of my own, I’d have a ‘quarium, ‘cause I’d like to see what happens to fish in space. Maybe even a space octopus--!”
“Parker?”
“Flash?” The last person he ever expected to find watching a kiddy picture, his nemesis has a younger boy by his side, who is yakking about “…that big old ray-gun that lit up, and the disintegrator beam--”
“My kid brother, Geiger,” Flash explains hastily. “Mom doesn’t trust him alone on the subway yet.”
“Hi!” Morgan says loudly to Geiger. “Wasn’t that a great movie? Nova Girl is so cool!”
“Yeah, she is!” he agrees. “I liked it when she helped Perihelion stop the Zorts with the comet-buster! And triggering the volcano so they could get away! That was epic!”
The kids are oblivious to the awkward tension between their elders.
“I didn’t know you had a sister, Parker,” Flash says after a moment.
He’s saved the need to explain by Morgan, who throws her arms around him and announces, “He’s the best big brother in the world!”
“No, Flash is!” Geiger says, looking up at Flash with what Peter is surprised to see is hero-worship. The guy may be a dick to his peers, but clearly, the kid thinks he’s awesome. It’s an unexpected attribute for his usually obnoxious peer.
Flash soft-punches the boy’s shoulder. “Yeah? Remember that the next time it’s your turn to take out the trash, twerp.”
“You’re pretty special yourself,” Peter says to Morgan, who beams up at him. He smiles at Flash. “See you around, Flash. Nice meeting you, Geiger.”
With Morgan’s hand in his, they exit the theater. The rest of the afternoon stretches ahead of them, and Peter looks forward to spending more quality time with his little sister, Morgan.
