Good Thursday to you, my dear lockdown lovelies :) Before I head to work, here is Thursday's theme: Domestic Fic. Prompts must be domestic themed. Maybe some Avengers are in lockdown and redecorating Tony's Tower from boredom, maybe some spies are lovingly choosing their costumes and backstories, maybe a demon and an angel are baking together in a bookshop. Have fun with it, the fluffier the better :)
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Good Omens, Aziraphale/Crowley, Aziraphale teaching Crowley how to bake during/after Lockdown
+ Community, ensemble, Interior Decorating 101
+ Any (please no SPN), author's choice, Netflix and streaming, maybe a little chill later
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2020 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2020-05-11 06:05 am (UTC)It was worth it to defeat the Empire at Jakku. She keeps telling herself that. She would gladly have given her own life to help rid the galaxy of that evil. Yet being left behind, living with this gaping hole of loss...
The Arrows are her home, her family. For years after her blood relatives disowned her when she came out and she left, trying never to look back, she had no place to call her own. Even when she joined up with the Rebellion, knowing she was doing the right thing, she had trouble feeling she truly belonged, connecting with others.
Then she was placed with the newly-formed Arrow Squadron. A mix of green recruits and veterans, people of all races and identities, even aromantics and asexuals like her – right away, it felt like family. They were the real parents, siblings, and children she never had.
And now half them are gone, and her heart is broken.
Fray will never play one of his hallikset songs for them again.
Krana will never roll her eyes at squadron antics while smiling when she thinks no one one is looking.
Rhine will never surprise another person with the softness underlying his typically masculine exterior.
Sera's bright laugh will never again ring against the bulkheads or through the comms.
Aristi will never again complain that they're all a bunch of children and that she's the only one truly holding the squadron together. Perhaps now they'll find out if she was right.
Commander Birbru will never answer another of Una's questions; his mentorship, his grooming of her to take his place, was cut short. He'll never get the post-war retirement with his wife and son he dreamed of.
Una closes her eyes, letting her tears fall. There's no point in hiding them. Everyone knows she's hurting, as she knows they are. A glance to the her fellow surviving Arrows painfully proves it.
Nisrene and Masri are clutching hands, both queerplatonic partners staring hollow-eyed. Nisrene looks almost composed, a good act, while Masri could clearly break at any moment.
Beside them is Rin, face buried in hands that barely muffle his sobs. He's always worn his emotions on his sleeve, and now is no different. Losing his brother and his last connection to Alderaan as well as so many of his friends has cut him deeply.
Bej has his eyes on Rin, his usually open and friendly face drawn with exhaustion and grief. He clearly wants to offer comfort but doesn't know how to begin.
At the end of the line is Phae, looking even smaller and younger than usual. They have their arms wrapped around themselves as they half-listen to the memorial service, blinking away tears every few moments.
Una knows they're all hurting. She can't she's the most affected; she knows it isn't right. The Arrows have always been a family, and they've all lost friends and loved ones. It just hurts so much knowing most of the rest of them have others they can depend on. Masri and Nisrene have each other. Phae has a supportive family back on Naboo. Bej has an entire village behind him, and even now he's looking out for Rin.
What does she have? Them, of course, part of her says. But it's different now. She's been thrust into command, and now she has to be above them, apart. She can't rely on them in the same way, even if she knows they're there. She needs to take care of them, to protect them.
That's what she needs to focus on. They're survivors, the six of them. Their family is smaller now, but it's still here. They need time to grieve, to decide who and what they are now, but they don't have to do it alone. It's going to be hard, she knows that too, but together...maybe they'll manage. She won't let her family be hurt again.

Date: 2020-05-07 05:43 pm (UTC)Fill -- Where the Wild Things Are
Date: 2020-05-11 07:50 am (UTC)Gil got them a lamp that’ll go on the table next to the rocking chair. It has little wooden animals on the base, and the neck looks like a giraffe. Cute. Tally is thrilled.
Dani picked up a spare set of bedding for the crib. The pattern is various animal prints in black and white. Okay. Happy wife, happy life--and Tally is pleased enough for both of them.
Edrissa has supplied them with a stack of pretty embroidered cloths, and Tally says approvingly that they can’t have too many burp cloths!
Malcolm is out holding a flatish rectangular box with that boyish grin of his. Tally is charmed. JT is more cautious.
It’s a book, JT guesses. Pretty sure that’s not on Tally’s almighty list. God, knowing Bright, it’s liable to be something completely unsuitable--‘500 Things Your Parents Don’t Want You to Do (And Why to Do Them Anyway’) or ’A Beginner’s Guide to Jack the Ripper’--some shit like that.
Tally carefully peels loose the tape on the package. It’s been neatly wrapped in pastel striped paper, gender neutral. At this point--eight months!--they don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl because they want to be surprised. All kids love animals, Tally said when she’d announced the theme for the nursery. Just wait til we can all go to the zoo as a family!
It isn’t a book, it’s a box. Tally opens it, tissue paper crinkling. Her eyes widen, then she looks up at Malcolm with a genuine smile. “That’s darling!”
“I’m glad you like it.” He’s blushing.
“Look, honey--isn’t that sweet?” She holds it up.
It’s a framed picture--an illustration--of animals having a picnic. Or maybe it’s a tea party. But there are elephants and bears, giraffes and lions and monkeys--Bright definitely got the animal part right. He studies it carefully and nods. There’s nothing about it that’s liable to scar their offspring for life, and it’s certainly appropriate for the nursery.
“Thanks, man,” JT says.
Like the picture, that’s appropriate.
