Monday: AI Generated Cat names
Sep. 14th, 2020 06:13 amHello, everyone. I’m
cornerofmadness and all this week I’m bringing you AI generated prompts. I’m a little bit fascinated by AI generated things which can be so entirely bizarre and I thought it could be fun to play with that. Today's theme is AI generated cat names found here for example or you can use this post
to generate your own (or any other cat name generator you care to use). Have fun with it. It doesn’t have to be a cat name. Name your dogs, horses, flying friends, whatever. Someone wants to creative and new agey with their kids or their cars, go for it.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Fullmetal Alchemist, Alphonse Elric + any, now that he has his body back, he gets two cats and names them Fish Especially and Honeystring
+ Prodigal Son, Gil and Jackie Arroyo + young Malcolm Bright . Young Malcolm has a bad day and won’t let go of their cat, Sparky Buttons
+ Futurama, Bender + any, when a feral kitten decides Bender is the best thing ever, he naturally names it Kill All Humans
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2020 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2020-09-16 05:55 am (UTC)"Relax, Rodney," Sheppard said as he carefully bundled the tiny white kitten into the front of his TAC vest. Rodney watched the Colonel's hands carefully, ready to take over should the kitten show any sign of distress.
"You cannot possibly be thinking of calling it Snowy!"
Sheppard rolled his eyes. "It's small and white and this whole planet is covered in snow."
"It's a cat. A kitten! One of the most regal of all animals! You can't just call it 'Snowy'!"
"Well, what would you call it then?"
"I don't know. Something, something more dignified, that's for sure."
"Uh huh."
Behind them, Ronon and Teyla stood with long-suffering looks on their faces.
"We could call it Einstein."
"What if it's not smart?"
Rodney gaped at him, hands fluttering about the front of John's vest as though trying to find the kitten's tiny ears to cover. "Don't say that!" he snapped. "You'll hurt its feelings!"
"We're not calling it after a scientist, McKay."
Rodney stamped his foot. "It's a perfectly logical -"
"It's a cat."
"An alien cat. For all you know it could understand everything we're saying! It could even be smarter than you!"
Sighing, Sheppard turned and started heading back towards the 'gate. "I found Snowy," he said, "so I get to name him."
"Oh that's - that's just - that's just not fair! Just because I was busy making sure the rest of you survived -"
"How was he doing that?" Ronon murmured to Teyla, but Rodney ignored him, flapping one hand impatiently at the Satedan as he hurried after the Colonel.
"In fact, I think you should be rewarding me! All my hard work and, and genius, and all the ways I've saved your life just this week!"
"Rewarding you, huh?" Sheppard turned to face him and Rodney found himself swallowing as he stumbled to a halt. Sheppard's gaze swept over his body, and Rodney felt himself flushing. Sheppard smirked.
Ronon sighed, loudly. "I think I liked it better when they were oblivious," he told Teyla.
She laughed softly. "No, you didn't," she said.
"I can think of plenty of ways to -"
"Not in front of the kitten!" Rodney demanded, cutting Sheppard off. "Now, hurry up and dial Atlantis. It needs to be checked out, who knows how long it was abandoned here, freezing in the snow!"
"Oh, Snowy might be freezing," Sheppard sniped as he dialed.
"You can't fool me Mr-I-like-Antarctica," Rodney snapped back, "like this little bit of snow bothers you. And we're not calling it Snowy!"
"Snowy," John repeated, nodded as he received the confirmation from Atlantis that they could come on through, and moving towards the open wormhole.
"Don't you dare -" Rodney began as he hurried after him.
A short moment later he was stepping through the event horizon into Atlantis where Weir was waiting for them.
"How was it?" she asked.
"Oh, you know -" Sheppard began.
"We are *not* calling it Snowy!" Rodney declared.
(first time doing this, so I hope I've done this right. Thank you for the lovely prompt)
