Doppelganger Monday
Jan. 4th, 2021 05:37 pmHappy New Year my doves. I’m
classics_lover, your host for the next 10 days and today's theme is Doppelgangers. Prompts can be anything to do with characters or actors who look alike. Maybe The Tenth Doctor met Crowley and Aziraphale, maybe someone keeps telling Tony Stark that he reminds them of that one actor from Ally McBeal and it drives him bonkers. Maybe Christian Kane's characters all accidentally meet in a reality nexus and bro out for a while. Have fun with it!
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
♥ MCU, Tony Stark + any, "Hey Mr Stark, I've been binge watching Ally McBeal and you look JUST LIKE this one guy!"
♥ Good Omens/Casanova (BBC), Aziraphale/Giacomo Casanova, Aziraphale refuses to admit quite why he likes the Venetian until one day he bumps into Crowley and his brain short circuits
♥ Star Trek (any TV), any or ensemble, Mirrorverse shenanigans
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2020 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2021-01-05 06:43 pm (UTC)"He was an excellent judge of wines - and not afraid of pastry cream, I might add"
People often took that last bit out of context. but then, Aziraphale thought, Casanova himself utterly enjoyed taking ANYTHING out of context, but only if it could be taken. ..Into sexual context.
"Really!," the angel huffed at this own naughty remembrances, taking a bite of what passed for vodka and Romano cream sauced pasta from the "Italian restaurant" down the road
"Dreadfull!" A memory returned to him: slender and talented hands, tossing lobster and truffles into a decadent looking sauce, sauce splattering on those same fingers, a grin that invited the sauce be licked off . . .
Aziraphale blinked, trying to shake off memory. Right. He needed better pasta. Giacomo would have been revolted by this heavy mess and commercial pasta. He slipped into his coat, selected a scarf, and made for a different cafe where whispers had it the pasta was handmade.
After verifying this, he bought a pound of fresh pasta and minor miracle'd the cashier to put aside a pound for him a week. Carrying his spoils, he ventured back towards home and ran right into a lanky figure in black.
Crowley blinked, looked down at the takeout container. "Should put some lobster and truffles in that." he said, noddingly, the words on his tongue languid, as if it were nothing, as if that hadn't been just what Aziraphale had been remembering. The angel gaped after him a minute, mind wondering just how, how he had known, how he had even picked those ingredients?, how did he even get into those pants -
Aziraphale blinked. He used to wonder how Giacomo got into his pants.
Well, he didn't always wonder per se, but that was very much beside the point. And no one's business beside. The man had a smile that would break your heart if you saw it fade, nothing like Crowley's smile.
Nothing.
Only...Crowley almost never smiled. Aziraphale tried to think. He never had seen him smile. This notion was ridiculous. He hurriedly caught up to Crowley, who raised an eyebrow at the flush on the angel's cheeks from the exertion.
"Hurried much?"
"What? No. Yes." The angel's mind petered out. He needed to make him smile. How do you make an angel -no, demon!- he had to correct himself - smile? His brain raced plots in microseconds, processing and rejecting.
Crowley looked around for a second, as if to see if something around them was going on and when he found nothing his eyes returned to the angel. He was motionless for a second, but the slight confusion and near panic suited Aziraphale, as if it were the most Aziraphale thing, inherent to his being, flushing his cheeks and worrying his curls. Poor angel needed a break, Crowley thought idly, and that thought, though he was almost unconscious of it, tugged a smile at his lips.
Aziraphale didn't miss it. A slow, soft smile that started at the lips, a crooked smirk that somehow extended to the eyes, crinkled the concerns oh his eyes. Aziraphale saw that smile and instantly remembered the blue eyes of one he had seen so many times before, so long ago. It was the same smile, but now the eyes were orange and black, not sky blue.
"Oh," the angel breathed, unaware he was half-groaning the words aloud, "Oh.No.
I was summoned out of the depths of blah because Casanova! but I am very rusty on writing! I think this might have gotten away from the idea thought...
