Hello, everyone. I’m [livejournal.com profile] momma_66 and today's theme is Mythology. Prompts can be anything dealing in myths. Be it classic Roman and Greek gods or maybe delve deeper into the mythos of your favorite fandom. Be creative and have fun!

Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.

Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt

Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Naruto, Any, what started as a story to get genin to train harder in the colder months morphed over time. Now everyone celebrates the kind Shinobi St. Nick
+ Any, Any, Greek god AU
+ Any, Any + Any, getting the magical world breakdown ala Luis (Antman) Style

We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2021 collection. See further notes on this new option here.

Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.

While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

What would have happened, Bilbo sometimes wonders, if he'd never left Bag End? Try as he might to push it away, the question continues to dog at him. He cannot so much as brew a pot of tea, dust his fireplace mantle, or clear away the table without having to push away the thought.

His life would be simpler, would it not? Oh, the neighbors would still think him mad, but only for reasons as inane as how late he stays up into the night or what color vests he sports. Bright-eyed young hobbitlings would still find their way to his door in search of sweets and stories — tales sans dwarves and dragons. And there would be no box of gemstones buried beneath his bed. Considering all the fuss raised over them, that would be no travesty.

Maybe then the walls would not feel so tight and the ceiling too low. His worn, well loved armchair is now stiff no matter what position he contorts himself into or how many pillows he spills across it. If he is lucky — and luck, he now knows, is the rarest commodity of all — then he can stay focused on one of his books long enough to read a chapter. His maps have become nothing but yellowing, faded blurs, peeks into places that no longer seem tangible.

As he waters the beans and potatoes that decorate his garden, or as he wanders the well stocked stalls of the local market, his feet move just a bit too fast. One day, he might not be able to stop them from racing over a hill and into the horizon.

If he had never left, he might still recognize himself when he looks in the mirror. No doubt his thoughts would not drift to a mountain nearly half a world away, to someone he can never again find no matter how far he travels.

Yet as much as the question eats at him, Bilbo fears he may already know the answer. That wild Took in him never would have been able to say no. Even without his blood, he and Thorin's paths might still never have diverged. Golden threads of fate had knitted it together. Now the strings tighten around his neck, a hard yank pulling him forward.

Where, he muses, might these unseen hands lead him next?
