They came out waaaay back when I was married. I remember falling asleep at the theater, opening night, on the hub's shoulder. He couldn't believe it, as I am All About the Action Movies. It started a Die Hard Is My KnockOut Drug thing and.

FiLL: Shameless, ian/mickey, hurt/comfort

“It hurrrrrrrrrts,” Mickey grumble groans as another vicious wave of nausea twisted his tummy into a knot. On his knees in front of the toilet, head bowed and hands gripping the cold tile, he prayed to the porcelain gods for mercy.

Having the flu sucks ass, aside from the disgusting vomiting, his joints ached, his runny nose was as red as Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, and he was so fatigued he hardly had the energy to keep from face planting into the toilet bowl temple of doom.

Mickey had hardly been able to keep any food down, his stomach twisting with each rough breath he took. Ian was a wonderful husband who brought him a soothing bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup, yet sadly, it left Mickey kneeling on the floor, his stomach churning sickly.

He heaves, gagging around the bile in his throat while his insides coiled like a snake. Ian lingers by, brushing his palms up and down his husband’s spine, touching feather soft as Mickey empties his stomach.

Cheeks flush crimson red and skin slick with sweat and clammy, Mickey is harshly breathing as round after round of retching coil in the pit of his belly. He had been bed-ridden for almost two days, laying in pain from the flu virus. He barely ate, and what little food he consumed he was unable to keep down, his stomach muscles protesting every time he knelt over the toilet. He hardly slept, though he was exhausted, the agonizing body ache preventing him from resting comfortably.

To say he was miserable was an understatement. Just the sound of his heaving is enough to make Ian's stomach churn. He tries to comfort his husband, his fingers lightly brushing through Mickey's unruly spiky hair and massaging his shoulders, whispering gentle reassure as Mickey heaves.

Ian was hopeful that if Mickey could get some much needed sleep, he could kick the flu. He just had to get Mickey away from the evil porcelain gods who demanded a sacrifice. “Just shoot me, Gallagher. Put me out of my misery.” Mickey slumps to the floor, sweat beading on his brow as he cradles his tummy. “God, it hurts.”

Seeing his husband curled up in the fetal position is something Ian won't tolerate…not when there is a cozy, warm bed just in the next room. However, with Mickey's stomach protesting six feet of distance from the toilet, Ian will just have to wait it out.

Grabbing a cool washcloth, he sits beside Mickey and gently pulls him into the cradle of his arm, allowing Mickey to snuggle up with his head on his chest. Ian dabs the cool cloth on Mickey's forehead, his husband's fever is lower than it had been, but hasn't broken fully.

Thankfully, Mickey melts into his embrace, nuzzling Ian's chest. Mickey takes a slow breath, drawing in Ian's scent, and normally, he would bust his husband's balls for the vanilla scented oil he wears, but this time, the sweet smell calms Mickey as he snuggled with Ian.

The agonizing headache dulls slightly as Ian gently rocks Mickey, Ian worried that any movement would unsettle Mickey's tummy, but his husband is silent and calm, his once ragged breathing due to the agony now comes in slow, deep breaths.

For a few moments, all is silent, Ian takes in the rosy blush on Mickey's cheeks, leaning down to press a sweet kiss to the warm skin. Mickey gazes up at him, knotting his fingers in Ian's shirt. “Thanks for taking care of me.” He hides his face in Ian's chest, a bit shy for being so vulnerable and needing help.

“I will always take care of you; you told me that. We take care of each other; good times, bad, sickness, health, all that shit.”

Mickey smiles softly, and cuddling is an awesome way to de-stress and create intimacy.
