Thursday is for the Paranormal
Jul. 22nd, 2021 09:11 amWelcome, foolish mortals. I'm
templefugate, your host, your ghost host. Today's theme is the paranormal. Prompts can be anything related to or about the spooky things that may or may not go bump in the night.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ DC, Zatanna Zatara, performing an exorcism
+ Any, any, telling ghost stories
+ The Baby-Sitter's Club, Karen Brewer, searching for monsters
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2021 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2021-07-22 07:48 pm (UTC)I'm assuming it wasn't malicious if they gave it a cute name.
I, fortunately, have never encountered one!

Date: 2021-07-22 03:28 pm (UTC)FILL: Prodigal Son, Malcolm Bright + team
Date: 2021-08-01 01:58 am (UTC)In a locked apartment, with the only other person who had a key- the owner- easily alibied across town at a club, and a complete stranger besides.
"I've always wanted to spend the night in a haunted house," Malcolm muses as he takes it all in.
"Isn't the family home haunted?" JT asks him. It's their usual quick snark, but Gil's shoulders tighten as he fixes his second in command with a glare. Regret passes briefly over JT's face. That one was a little too real to be funny.
Malcolm sighs. "I don't think our ghosts leave much room for anyone else's. Mom and I, and sometimes Ains, even if she pretends she isn't, are haunted enough on our own. No poltergeist could ever hope to compete."
"Then why do you want to go somewhere really haunted?" Dani asks quietly. "Wouldn't that just dig up old ghosts?"
Malcolm considers it. "Curiosity, I suppose. Maybe the same impulse that drove me to profiling."
Because Malcolm Bright has never, not one time in his entire life, left well enough alone. The son of the Surgeon doesn't know how to leave a question unanswered or a bruise unprodded. That particular quirk of his is, of course, how they caught the Surgeon. And a whole host of other killers after him.
