Fill: Shameless, Ian/Mickey

It's hot today. It was hot yesterday, but well, he wouldn’t say anything. Didn't bitch about the way his skin burns, even as sweat pours down his honey golden freckled cheeks. Somehow the heat doesn't bother Ian.

Mickey has let loose a few vulgar words, his skin prickles and burns from the heat, but Ian stays composed.

It's always smoldering since the world burned. The temperature never gets below one hundred degrees. Raz hadn’t said a word since they set on their grub run...The sleek black leopard prowls the ground in silent steps just as his human Ian does the same with one foot in front of the other. Calm, collected. Just gotta focus on the mission, not the problem, head held high like all hope is not lost.

Mickey took a deep breath, and the air is so dry he coughs violently. Baz pauses, the honey badger twitches at his humans side, paws flexing on the smoldering ground. Something seems to break in Mickey and he throws his backpack to the ground, screaming in rage. Death would be a mercy at this point. Something seems to break in micheky and he throws his backback to the ground, screaming in rage.

Why even try to survive? Hope is far away like the cool rain that never comes anymore. Ian comes to his side, passing Raz who regards his humans husband with sympathetic golden eyes as Ian grabs Mickey and hugs him tight.

The smoldering air soon fills with Mickey's sobbing and Baz's howling, the sound was terrifying. The world is broken, hardly any food left, little to no water remains. But they have to try. They cannot just stand around waiting to parish.

As Ian hugs Mickey, trying to somehow give him strength of the heart to carry on, Raz gently nuzzles Baz, bot human and daemon trying to survive a world holding on by an unwoven thread.

“We cant give up,” Ian presses a kiss to Mickey's cheek, as Baz gently headbutts Raz. They are sacred and hungry... But they cannot just roll over and die. Mickey catches his breath and gathers his soul to strength, following beside Ian as his husband leads him back down the deserted road. hopefully, in town, they will find food to survive this day.

Raz and Baz linger behind, the daemons following after their humans whom still hold out hope in a world burnt by a smoldering sun.
