Tuesday: Theme seasons
Oct. 5th, 2021 07:29 amHello, everyone. I’m
cornerofmadness and today's theme is seasons. Prompts can be any kind of season, autumn, winter, etc or anything that represents that season to you.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ The Walking Dead – Paul ‘Jesus’ Rovia + any, he remembers liking winter but now it’s just one more thing to fight to survive
+ Prodigal Son, Malcolm Bright/+ Dani Powell, the leaves are turning colors in Central Park
+ Lucifer, Lucifer + any, he wishes there were more definite seasonal changes in L.A.
+ Star Trek, Leonard McCoy, Spock + any, Vulcan has all four seasons, hot, hotter, are you kidding me and I can’t get any more naked
+ Fullmetal Alchemist, Edward Elric + any, summer is hard on automail
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2021 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2021-10-11 01:24 am (UTC)"Uh huh," King mumbled half-asleep, from where he lay curled up next to her on the love seat
Luz twisted to look at him. "What about snow?"
King opened one yellow eye. "It's cold?"
"I know that! I went to The Knee with Eda, remember?"
"Oh, yeah." King waved off Luz's reminder as he closed his eye. "I was busy that day."
"You needed my help!" Hooty shouted, slithering around King. "We were amazing!"
King yelped, struggling to free himself from Hooty. "No! Don't say anything!"
"What?" Luz cocked her head, looking between the two. "What is this?"
"Nothing!" King wriggled loose and bapped Hooty on the face.
"Ow!"
Maybe she didn't want to know, Luz thought. Hooty and King wrestled, as much as a tube being and a tiny-legged demon could. "Hey guys, does it snow down here?"
They froze at the question. (Ha, Luz thought, froze!) "Nooo," Hooty said, the vowel sound rising and falling.
"Boiling Isles," Eda's voice floated down the stairs. "Why are you three making so much noise?"
"I want it to snow," Luz hollered back.
"You're a witch in training, kid, you can make it snow. Just do it quietly, mama's still sleepy."
"She was playing Hexes Hold'em last night. Aaaaall night," Hooty said.
"Was not!"
"Was tooooo!"
When had Eda found time to play Hexes Hold'em? Luz wondered. It wasn't like she had friends over and as far as Luz knew, Eda hadn't gone out.
Eda called down the stairs. "Aw, I'm going back to sleep. Keep it quiet!"
King patted Luz on the shoulder, bringing her out of her thoughts. "Luz?"
She grinned at him. "I can make it snow!"
"And then what?" King asked.
"You'll see." Luz said it in her most mysterious way.
King didn't seem won over as he said, "Okay," dragging out the second syllable of the word.
It look a little time to figure out the glyphs she wanted to use (and a few little mistakes - fortunately Eda slept through those and Hooty appreciated Luz cleaning up after herself) but eventually, snow fell outside the Owl House. Okay, so it was a mix of the palest shades of blue and purple and pink and green and yellow - Luz had been thinking of how snowfall was like confetti when she got the glyphs perfected - but it was still cold and perfect.
"Ta-dah!" Luz said, waving her hands at the open door and the snow outside.
"Okay, it's snowing," King said. He cocked his head up at her. "Now what?"
Luz finished closing the jacket she'd relocated in Eda's broom closet. "Now, we go play."
"Play?" King stared.
Luz scooped him up, cradling him against her. "Doncha wanna go play outside, King?"
He wriggled in protest, struggling to get free. "In the cold?"
Luz carried him outside to a multi-hued snowdrift, holding him at arms' length. "Yep!" she said as she dropped him.
King howled at the cold, disappearing into the snow. He swarmed back out, his high-pitched squeal piercing Luz's ears. "Luz!" he shrieked.
She laughed, dodging him as he charged at her. Scooping up a handful of snow, she patted it into a ball and flung it at King. "You're it!"
"Nnnnnggg!" King shook his head to clear his eyes of snow. "You - you - !"
"Me me what?" Luz grabbed more snow, forming it into a ball and juggling it in her hand. "Ready to take me on?"
"I am!" Hooty shouted, flying at her.
Luz screeched, hopping sideways. Her feet slipped in the snow. She flailed, flinging the snow in her hand straight up. It landed in Hooty's eyes.
"Hey!" Hooty yelled.
Snow smacked Luz in the face. "Ha ha ha!" King chortled. He danced from one foot to the other. "You should see what you look like!" He squeaked when Luz grabbed more snow as she struggled to her feet. "No no! Luz! Aaaah!"
Upstairs, Eda grabbed a pillow and covered her head. There wasn't enough apple blood on the Isles to make up for this.
