Natasha had been trained from a very early age to be a spy and an assassin. She was damn good at it too because she had learned to lock her emotions away so that no one could touch her in a way that would hurt her. She built her walls higher and stronger than any fortress and posted guards on the towers.

She knew the names they called her; ice princess, stone cold bitch, and so many more. It was just one of the ways that people tried to break her. No matter what anyone tried to do she knew that taunts could never come close to a blade between the ribs, delivered with an ice cold smile.

A bottle of Sazerac Rye and football - compared to most of his Friday nights, this was downright tame. Bucky leaned his head back and took a long swig. Once upon a time, he could have blamed his misadventures on what was in the bottle (or, if that failed, Steve). Now, the liquid could do nothing more than singe his throat and light a fire in his belly.

The shelter was small and dirty. covered in a solid layer of dust from lack of use. But it had a floor, four walls, and a roof that would keep the biting cold and snow at bay. A working heater and thick, warm, blankets would have welcome, but the half burned wood in the fireplace caught eventually and that was enough to take the edge off.

Between the space blankets he and Phil carried and ample application of body heat. They would hopefully make it through the 12 hours it would take for an extraction team to arrive.
