Hello, everyone. I’m
nagi_schwarz and today's theme is album titles. Prompts can be album titles or anthology titles or album series titles. Thanks to everyone who has left prompts and written fills!
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ MI-5|Spooks, Lucas North, No Limit (Monsta X)
+ Stargate Atlantis, Rodney McKay/John Sheppard, All Yours (Astro)
+ BBC Sherlock, Sherlock Holmes, Rumination (SF9)
+ The Sandman, Morpheus + any, The Dreaming (Monsta X)
+ Cowboy Bebop, Spike Spiegel, Dream Part 1 (Astro)
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2021 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Fill: Minhyuk +/ Dongmin, fusion with The Sandman
Date: 2021-12-04 03:54 am (UTC)Minhyuk had already hopped out and was up to his ankles in the breakers. He offered Dongmin a hand. “This is the Isle of the Blue Turtles. I dream here.”
Dongmin accepted Minhyuk’s hand, and stepped out of the boat. Together they pushed it up onto the sand. While they’d been fleeing from Dongmin’s parents’ manor -- and the faceless, black-hooded guards who had surrounded the manor like a wall of black, icy flames -- Dongmin hadn’t appreciated that the little boat, which Minhyuk had rowed tirelessly for seemingly forever as the moon crossed the sky, was made of silver scales that glittered like starlight.
“You...dream here? Don’t you mean you live here?”
“Well, I do live here,” Minhyuk said. “Few people live in The Dreaming like I do. Few humans, I mean. But when you live in The Dreaming, well, you dream.”
He started up the pale blue sand, and Dongmin followed, because he hadn’t let go of Minhyuk’s hand, and he didn’t want to. Maybe he was a little afraid that if he let go of Minhyuk’s hand he’d wake up and be back in the glass box.
“What happens when you wake up?” Dongmin asked. If Minhyuk woke up, would Dongmin be all alone?
“Nothing,” Minhyuk said. “Since I live here.”
“What if I wake up?”
“Then you’ll be back in the waking world.”
Minhyuk led Dongmin along the sand to a series of wading pools, around which grew purple and pink and orange foliage, each pool a little oasis -- and home to plodding blue turtles with sapphires embedded in their shells.
“But am I really dreaming?” Dongmin asked. He crouched down and reached out to pet one of the turtles.
It stilled, allowing him to trace the lines on its shell. The shell felt -- soft. Velvety. Should turtles feel like that?
Minhyuk nodded. “Yes, you’re really dreaming.”
“This all feels so --” Dongmin couldn’t say real, though. Nothing in his life had ever quite felt real. He eyed Minhyuk. “Are you human?”
“I am. I’m the only human who lives in The Dreaming, besides my mother.”
“What about the other people here?” Dongmin kept petting the turtle. He was pretty sure it smiled at him.
“Some people here are dreamers. Others are dreams. Or nightmares. Creations of the Dream King.” Minhyuk plopped down beside some curling purple fronds, and a turtle crawled onto his lap like an affectionate puppy. Surely real turtles didn’t behave this way.
“Nightmares?” Dongmin echoed.
Minhyuk nodded.
“Have you ever encountered one? A nightmare.”
Minhyuk nodded again, tracing some kind of swirling pattern on the turtle’s back.
“If you’re human, how did you end up here? You and your mother.” Dongmin cast about, but there was no sign of Minhyuk’s mother, or even some kind of shelter in which they could live. Were they homeless?
“I don’t know,” Minhyuk said softly. “My mother doesn’t know she’s not a dreamer. She thinks she’s still dreaming.”
“What happens if you come back to the waking world?”
“I can’t leave her here alone.”
“What if both of you came with me? When I wake up.”
Minhyuk looked up at Dongmin and smiled sadly. “I’m sorry, Dongmin. It doesn’t work like that. When you wake up, you probably won’t even remember me.”
Dongmin reached out and curled his hand around Minhyuk’s wrist. “You set me free. I should set you free.”
“I wish it was that easy.”
Suddenly Dongmin wanted to always have Minhyuk by his side, to never let him go, to hold him and kiss him and --
Dongmin woke up.

Date: 2021-12-04 07:16 pm (UTC)It probably would have been bad for Dongmin to stay dreaming for too long. After a while we call that comatose, I suppose.
