Hi! I’m brumeier, and this week we’ve been hitting the library shelves for some titles because books are love. Thank you to everyone who left prompts and/or fills this week. You’re the best! Our final theme of the week is Book Titles: Non-fiction! Your prompts can be any book title that fits this theme.

Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!

Adam Carter sat on the sofa, a stunned expression on his face. He had been prepared for teenage sulks and unreasonable demands as Wes grew up. He’d also expected to be treated as superfluous and of less importance than his son’s mates. He’d even geared himself up for those important talks which every parent has to give to their teenage offspring. But he’d never expected the request Wes had just made, which left him totally flummoxed. Wes had asked that next time Lucas came over while he was at home the three of them have a family day out together.

Lucas woke gasping for breath. He could hear footsteps coming down the corridor and screamed. This was it. He couldn’t take any more. The footsteps retreated, then thundered off, presumably to fetch backup. He tried to think, but his brain wouldn’t co-operate. He couldn’t escape. He kept his eyes closed and tried to visualise if there was anywhere he could run to when they took him back to that room.

The footsteps returned and he heard in total panic the door slowly opening. A voice spoke to him.

“Lucas, it’s me, Wes. I’ve brought you some hot chocolate.”

It was a trick, he knew it was. He waited for the footsteps to approach. They didn’t.

Slowly, he opened his eyes. Wes was standing quietly in the doorway, holding the mug of hot chocolate, tentatively smiling at him.

Shaking, Lucas nodded, and Wes cautiously approached and put the hot chocolate down on the nightstand, before returning to the doorway.

“Thank you,” he whispered.
