templefugate. Today's theme is smell. Prompts can have anything to do with smelling and scents.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]

We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2021 collection. See further notes on this new option here.

"Yo, Angel?" Faith waved a hand in front of his face.
"Huh?" He blinked.
"Where'd you go, big guy?"
Angel shrugged and offered a half-smile. "Sorry. I got distracted. Did you think that one vampire looked like Dru?"
Faith rolled her eyes. "I saw that."
"Think Dru's starting up her cult again?" Connor shoved his weapons in a shoulder satchel.
"Guess we'd better reach out to the Watchers." Faith tucked a leftover stake into Connor's satchel. They made their way out of the abandoned warehouse.
Angel followed along behind. More than once, he paused, looking around. Connor finally noticed. "What is it? Didn't we clear out the nest?"
"What? Oh, yeah, I'm pretty sure we got them all." Angel squeezed Connor's shoulder. "Sorry, I'm just distracted. Why don't you and Faith go on ahead and I'll get you both some ice cream."
Connor's eyebrows shot up. "Are you bribing me?"
Angel patted his shoulder as he walked off. "That's what I always tell people, you're smarter than you look."
"Ha, ha!"
The farther Angel moved away from Connor, the clearer it came - a scent, maybe a memory of a scent. A perfume he hadn't smelled in years, one Buffy wore, back when they were dating. She couldn't be here; last Faith heard from Willow, Buffy was in Greece.
And yet.
He took a deep breath, ignoring the stench of rotting garbage, the stink of gasoline, cigarette smoke, Asian food, and...perfume.
"Buffy?"
There was no answer.
