comment_ficToday's theme is social events. They don't have to begin with the letter s.
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full names for ease in adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above-mentioned spoiler cut.

"That isn't what I was going to ask you."
Her father looked up from the book he'd been reading. "Oh," he said, pushing up his glasses with the tip of his finger.
Kamala leaned back on her heel. "Some of my friends and I are going to be volunteering at the booths. Gotta pad those college applications, you know?" She bit her lip. Only twenty minutes before, she'd been pacing around her room with her head held high, an entire speech racing through her head. Now, her brain might as well have been a freshly shaken Etch-A-Sketch. "I'm going to handing out candy to the kids there."
Her father blinked. "That sounds very nice."
Kamala's tongue felt dry as sandpaper. "I was wondering if you'd like to come with me." Her words came out in a rush, each one bleeding into the next. "If you aren't busy, of course."
"Well," he said, "I don't have any plans. Is there something specific that you need help with?"
Kamala nodded. "The costume contest."
He raised an eyebrow. "The costume contest?"
"Yep," she said. "Everyone who attends is going to be dressed up. The center staff will be giving out awards for stuff like 'Crowd Favorite' and 'Most Original'. It'll be fun."
"I don't doubt that." He folded his hands together in his lap and leaned forward in his chair. "Though if you want help with your costume, your mother would be of much better help than I ever would."
Kamala grinned. "But Abbu, I already have a costume. Don't tell me you've already forgotten about Little Hulk!"
His eyes widened. "Never!"
She looked to her feet. "I know we didn't get the chance to do it together before, but..." Kamala cheeks were so hot that she could have cooked eggs on them. It wasn't as if an act of nature had stopped her and her father from dressing up at Avenger Con. "But why not do it now? I'm sure we'll have a great shot at winning the prize for best family costume."
"Or maybe you just think the chances are good that I'll be voted the scariest monster!"
Kamala couldn't push back a laugh. "I just need to warn you of something really quick, Dad."
"Excuse me?" His brows knitted together as he spoke.
"Well, Zoe was talking at lunch today about the costume she's been working on for her baby brother. I might not be the only Little Hulk you'll be dealing with that night."
He shook his head but his smile returned. "I already said yes, didn't I, beta?"
