Thursday: OtP
Jun. 9th, 2022 04:00 amHello, everyone. I’m
angelus2hot and today's theme is OtP (One True Pairing). OtP generally means any pairing you don't ship, or want to see/read/write with any other character. Prompts can be anything that pleases you but the pairing is your OtP or if you're like me OtPs. :)
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and
fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ Grimm, Nick Burkhardt/Adalind Schade, falling in love
+ A Discovery of Witches, Matthew Clairmont/Diana Bishop, craving you
+ Charmed, Cole Turner/Phoebe Halliwell, my girl
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2022 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out the just created Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet. For more recent prompts to write, you can also use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.

Date: 2022-06-09 07:24 pm (UTC)Fill: DC - Diana/Mera - Bombshells 'Verse
Date: 2022-06-13 04:20 pm (UTC)Diana sat with her knees pressed against her chin, her gaze locked on the sky overhead. A roaring wind beat against her back, sending her hair flying every which way. Yet despite the storm's growing fury, Diana remained dry as a bone.
"When I was a young girl," Diana said, "my mother told me that Zeus' anger incited storms."
Mera turned her head and arched an eyebrow. "Really?"
Diana nodded. "She never could answer me when I asked her what provoked him."
For as much as the gods had blessed the Amazons, even the most studied philosopher among her people could only guess at what drove them. Eons had passed since a deity had last stepped foot on paradise's shores. Yet distant as they were, Diana had a firm idea of what a goddess was like. After all, one might as well have been sitting next to her.
With only a flick of her hand, Mera had pushed the rain back into the sky. Now, it was as if an invisible canopy hung overhead, forcing the roaring torrent to splatter in every direction except down onto them.
"Why don't you stay for dinner tonight?" Diana asked.
Mera looked to her feet. "It would be wrong to impose on your mother."
"Impose? She'd be thrilled to have you!" Diana laughed. "For all I've told her about you, you still have yet to meet her. I'm beginning to believe that she thinks I made you up."
"It does sound rather fantastical, doesn't it?" With her back bent and face pointed downward, Diana couldn't make out Mera's expression beneath her curtain of fiery hair. "An Atlantean princess on dry land... You could certainly weave quite a story out of it."
Diana reached her arm forward, wrapping her hand around one of Mera's own. "Then why waste an opportunity to tell your own tale?"
Just as her mother could not decipher the gods' whims, Diana could only guess at why Mera, like the low tide, always receded back into the sea.
"If you are worried about what my sisters will think of you, then worry not. None would hesitate to offer you a seat at their tables and a spot by their hearths. A warrior is a warrior to them, no matter where she descends from."
Mera looked up, locking gazes with her. Reaching a hand out, she cupped Diana's chin in her hand. "I do not doubt you, Diana. But," she said, leaning forward, her face now close enough that their noses were pressed together, "consider this: Perhaps I enjoy being your little secret."
