Hello, everyone. I’m angelus2hot and today's theme is Drabbles. Prompts can be anything you’d like but fills have to be 100 word drabbles.

Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and the fandom's full name
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above-mentioned spoiler cut.

There’s no way to just stop loving Buffy, even though Angel knows that staying together, being together, isn’t an option. The human heart, even his dead, unbeating one, knows what it wants, no matter how often he tries to convince himself that leaving is the best thing he can do for both of them.

He’s sure he’s breaking Buffy’s heart, yet again, when he’s already done that too many times, but he can promise her one thing.

“No matter what happens, no matter how far apart we might be, whenever you need me, I’ll be there for you.”

“Promise?”

“Always.”

Hattie's seventh birthday is the best she's ever had; less because anyone makes a big fuss over it than because Dad spends the whole weekend in the drunk tank.

Of course, it doesn't hurt that the rest of the family makes a little bit of a fuss. Mum gets a cake from one of the nice shops they never go to and invites Rory and Oona from school and Mary and Martha from the religious family two doors down. Mum offered to have a bigger party somewhere proper, like, but most of the kids in Hattie's year are crybabies and they're not a lot of fun to play with, so Hattie says she doesn't want one.

After the girls leave, Deck and Owen buy curry and fizzy pop and Matilda on VHS and sit with her to watch it, and she thinks originally the plan was to fuck around with firecrackers behind the iron works, but then she mentions That Prat Robbie Johnson--who is labeled as "That Prat Robbie Johnson" so indelibly in her mind that twenty-five years later when she and her recently-liberated mother run into him and his family outside an ice cream shop in Soho Hattie has to stop herself from blurting "Hey, mum, it's That Prat Robbie Johnson!" at volume.

But that's a long way off, yet.

Anyway, she tells Deck and Owen how Robbie tried to steal her the cash she's got in her book bag yesterday, and Deck and Owen decide to teach her how to throw a proper punch and do until their mum kicks them outside before they break another tea set.

They get thirsty again an hour later and hit up the Lidl two blocks over, scrambling over the alley wall behind it, laughing when they find they've forgotten to grab any cash, this moment indelible for Hattie, too, twenty-five years later.

Deck, who runs his tongue over the split lip he got in the brawl outside the bar that got their dad hauled off for a couple nights; Owen, with a single welt that shows on his lower back when his shirt rides up when he stretches up to vault the fence; and Hattie, who finds a pair of strong and steady hands on either side to boost her up and catch her on the other side since she isn't tall enough to do it on her own just yet.
