Okay, y'all, are you ready? It's time for the first Saturday Free for All of 2024! ✨ (Crowley voice: Can I hear a "wahoo"?) There are no themes for prompts or fills to follow. Be free, and have fun! ✎
Just a few rules:
1. No more than five prompts in a row.
2. No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
3. Use the character's full name and the fandom's full name for ease in adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
4. No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
5. If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
6. If your story has possible triggers, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2024 collection.
If you are viewing this post on our Dreamwidth site, please know that fills posted here will not show up as comments on our LiveJournal site, but you are still more than welcome to participate. =)
If you have a Dreamwidth account and would feel more comfortable participating there, please feel free to do so… and spread the word!

As a reminder, for January, we will be trying a new posting schedule. Sundays are for Lonely Prompts and sharing the fills that you completed during the week, Tuesdays and Thursdays are for new themes and prompts, and Saturdays will remain a Free for All.

Date: 2024-01-06 08:21 pm (UTC)Fill: The Baby-Sitter's Club - Stacey McGill & Claudia Kishi
Date: 2024-01-11 06:00 am (UTC)What Claudia has made isn't a drawing. Though Stacey had watched her birth it with a charcoal pencil and a piece of paper, it's so realistic that it might as well be a photograph. Looking at it is like looking into a mirror.
Stacey holds the papers' edges gingerly. Looking at is the closest she'll ever get to seeing herself through someone else's eyes. From the dimple in her left cheek to the studded earrings she had oh so carefully selected that morning, Claudia certainly hadn't scrimped on the details. That someone could capture so much detail in such a short amount of time... Stacey can hardly wrap her head around it.
"Claud, this is incredible!"
There are probably better adjectives to use, something a bit less cliche, but it was the first word that came to mind. And if she hadn't said that, then would she have been able to say anything at all?
Claudia grins. "Are you glad you said yes now?"
Stacey's cheeks flame. She looks down, eyeing the piece of paper beneath her. She'd turned it upside down as soon as she'd finished it. Stacey easily could live a long, happy, and successful life without ever seeing what decorates its opposite side again.
Oh, why had Claudia asked her to do this? It wasn't as if Claudia couldn't have found someone else to do this. Mallory would have said yes in a heartbeat. Unlike Stacey, Mal actually knew how to hold a pencil. Her drawings may not have been anywhere near as lifelike as Claudia's, but that didn't make them any less eye-catching. Mal's drawings had a storybook quality to them. And if not Mal, then why not Jessi? Stacey had seen her notebook doodles. They may not have been polished, but her drawings certainly had a distinctive style. Heck, why not Kristy? She never said no to a challenge. Any of them certainly would have done better than her.
At least, she reminds herself, you didn't make stick figures.
"A drawing exercise" - that was what Claudia had called this little get together for. It was a far apter term than Stacey had first realized. After all, what was this if not a way for Claudia to flex her art muscles?
"Are you sure about this?" Stacey squeaks, not able to meet Claudia's gaze.
"Come on, Stace," Claudia says, holding her hand out. "This isn't fun if only one of us does it."
Stacey swallows a groan and slides the paper forward across Claudia's polished wooden desk. She looks back to the drawing Claudia had created rather than watch Claudia flip the paper over.
For a moment, neither says anything.
Of course, what is there to say? Stacey is no da Vinci. Anyone with eyes can see that, let alone someone who knows her way around a sketchbook.
"Oh, Stace," Claudia says, holding the paper up, "you included my favorite bracelet!"
Stacey's cheeks flush again, this time because of how wide Claudia's smile is.
"It's nothing much..."
"But it's so cute!" Claudia points to the blobby figure. "And you included my new painted sneakers, too!"
So maybe those colored pencils were good for something!
Stacey shrugs. "I had to make it look like you somehow."
And it apparently had worked.
"I think this is incredible, too!" Claudia stands, rushing past her director's chair towards a corkboard mounted against her wall. She pins the drawing near the center, right next to her own drawings.
"It's the best I could do."
Not that that was saying much.
"Don't underestimate yourself, Stace."
"You're the artist around here, not me."
Had Claudia honestly expected anything better when she'd asked Stacey to do this?
"That," Claudia says, motioning towards the sketch, "says otherwise."

Date: 2024-01-21 02:14 pm (UTC)This is the exact moment in the fic when I chuckled:
>>"I tried. He didn't pick up on it in the slightest." Gallatin closed his eyes briefly. He may have even pouted.<<

Date: 2024-01-06 11:43 am (UTC)It’s been years since Dean took the vampire cure. So why is he here, now, struggling to get through a hunt without salivating? Why does he zone out as monster blood sluices down his arm, and spend the night after dazed and daydreaming?
Perhaps the worst part is that it’s not Dean that’s concerned and alert to these problems: it’s Sam.
