Help promote the comm!

This is your resident Head Code Monkey, and I want to put out the call to help pimp the community!

To that end, we're going to offer banners that you can put up in your journals (or elsewhere) to link back to us. Keep checking back, because we also plan on adding more!

Please make sure that banners are no larger than 500x300 pixels horizontally, and that they display "comment_fic" somewhere within the banner. Feel free to user our catch phrase: "Bite Sized Bits of Fic" Or use our new catch phrase: "New prompts daily to whet your appetite!" (Courtesy of galor5)

Want to make the banner a link back to the comm? Simply use the code below, and replace URL with the url for the banner you want to use.

I'll see what I can do about DL'ing Photoshop and making some banners and such.

Have you guys posted to community_promo? You might also try 150_comms, I'm fairly sure they have a spot in their database for this sort of comm.

Just got your msg with the banners.

I like them! Just to double check, are the first two meant to be that small, or is that a thumbnail? I want to make sure that I post the right thing.

Yeah the first two should be just larger than icon size width wise. I'm not sure of the exact pixel size.

How about affilites?
I manage a community with daily prompts prompt_of_day and I could think of have you as a affilite.

Affiliating would be awesome! I'm talking to the person that does our layout now to try and work out where we want to put an affiliates section (you'll be our first, after all) so it might not show up immediately. I'm thinking maybe putting up some kind of small banner in the side bar (or the user info page if that won't work) that will link to you. Do you have anything like that? Maybe 157x80? If not that's cool, I can probably put something together that's similar to your community user icon.

I reckon it'd be cool if you put the links in here (under the banners) that makes the pic clickable, cos some people don't know how to do that, and I reckon that makes it heaps better.

Wondering if you'd consider affiliating with kynxpirations--it's a multi-fandom prompt community, we occasionally run weekend themes and larger fest type things. We post prompts Monday to Friday. Even though it's multi-fandom it's sort of specifically 30 Seconds to Mars and to a lesser extent SPN due to the writers we have, so always looking for people to contribute from other fandoms.

This is gonna sound really dumb, but I'm a technical dunce and have never worked with banners, headers, or anything. I want to pimp the community out on my journal (I have one friend in particular who would love it) but have no idea how...

Can anyone help me out, please?

You can either send them directly to the community (comment_fic), or you can copy and paste the code below in the text box. There'll be a spot in the text box that says URL OF IMG - what you can do is right click any of the images in this post (or Ctrl click if you're on a Mac), select "copy image location", and past it in that spot. (remember to delete the words URL OF IMG when you do) This will allow you to post in your journal or a comment in her journal the image as a link to the community. After that, just tell people what you like most about it!
