You're Only In My Memories (Eleven/Rory)
Date: 2010-06-26 12:22 am (UTC)He had seen the light touch Rory. Watched the luminescent light from the crack cling to Rory's legs and slowly engulf him. Eleven couldn't bare to watch what would happen next but he knew, felt the tug of memories wanting to fade away. The Doctor had been around too long though and Rory wasn't apart of his future like he was for Amy's, so the memories didn't fade. They strained and frayed but didn't go.
Amy was hallow eyed sometimes, staring into mirrors or places Rory had once stood, knowing that something was missing. It broke the Doctor's heart to see the redhead so lost and conflicted, shrugging off the feelings as just too much traveling. But he was hurting too. His disadvantage was that he remembered everything about Rory.
Especially the sly kisses they had shared here and there along the way. The ones they hung behind when Amy ran off ahead to have. Eleven's hearts ached the way Amy's one should have. But maybe that was the advantage of having two hearts, so he could feel in the absence of others' ability to feel for things they should, but couldn't feel for.
Now, Rory would only ever exist in the Doctor's mind, along with all the rest of people he had ever known or loved. The only difference was that Rory, the memories the Doctor had of him at least, was only in his head and nowhere else, not even in time.
