Hey, I'm still
drabblewriter , and you're still stuck with me as your host. ^_^ Today's theme is rare pairings. Every fandom has that one OTP (or two or three) that everyone seems to ship, but what about all those other possibilities? Today is the time for these little-known couples to shine. ♥
Don't forget to follow the rules:

Don't forget to follow the rules:
- Post no more than three prompts per fandom and no more than five prompts in a row. If someone fills a prompt, you're more than welcome to post some more prompts later in the day.
- No spoilers in prompts for at least seven days after the original airdate or publication date. If you have spoilers in your fic, please warn in bold and leave at least three spaces.
- Show some love to the code monkeys and format your prompts correctly. Examples below:
- Supernatural, Dean/Crowley, coping
- Supernatural, Sam/Brady, first meeting
- Supernatural/Torchwood, Dean/Jack, 40 years in Hell vs. 2,000 years buried alive

Date: 2011-02-06 04:28 am (UTC)Even though it's been nearly a week since the full moon and four years since he last smelled this kind of magic Oz has no problem picking up the scent. He'd have made the man get out of his truck if he'd smelled fresh blood. Giles had smelled the same way but very faintly. Apparently it faded as you stopped using it, but lingered for years.
"Oz."
"Lindsey."
And there's obviously nothing else to talk about for now.
Oz has nowhere in partiular he's going and if Lindsey did he didn't say, so they're just following the road.
Lindsey pays for gas and lunch.
They follow a pattern of alternating who pays for gas and lunch for nearly three weeks.
It's nearly the full moon when he finally starts questioning Lindsey's plans.
"Why are you just riding with me? Don't you have anywhere to be?" Oz asked Lindsey over lunch.
"I have nowhere else to be. If you wanted me gone you could have just said." Lindsey said, before lowering his voice. "Or are you worried about the werewolf thing?"
Oz tenses in his seat.
"What do you know about that?" He growled.
"Only what was in your file. I knew before you picked me up who you are and what you are. If I wanted to kill you I would have done so by now." Lindsey paused to take a drink. "I had planned on subtly offering you a chance alone by asking if we could get a motel room but since we got this out in the open so suddenly and you obviously don't trust me..."
Lindsey waved a hand to indicate the universe in general.
"I'll be going now."
Lindsey stood up, dropping some money on the table to pay for his share and walked out.
By the time Oz managed to get out to the van Lindsey and Lindsey's things were gone.
It was nearly three months later when he saw Lindsey again, standing by the side of the row in Michigan.
"Up for a roadtrip?" Oz asked with a smile.
"Sure. I don't have anywhere I need to be." Lindsey said.
Neither of them say anything when Oz hooks their pinkies together 15 minutes later and doesn't let go until they stop for lunch.
