Hi there, it's drabblewriter again. Today's theme is quotes and sayings. It's time for our favorite characters to live out all those proverbs they're always hearing. Here's a list to help get you started.

Don't forget to follow the rules:

• Post no more than three prompts per fandom and no more than five prompts in a row. If someone fills a prompt, you're more than welcome to post some more prompts later in the day.

In the beginning, Castiel does not understand it.

Dean Winchester is not a pious man - he doesn't even claim to believe. He is not a virtuous man. He speaks the Lord's name in vain, and often; he speaks blasphemy. He steals. He lies. He fornicates with women and men. How can he be Chosen?

Having met Dean, Castiel does not approve. Dean is not a willing servant. He is rarely cooperative. He is never glad to cooperate. He is headstrong and reckless; he risks himself too glibly, does not grasp that he is risking them all by putting himself in danger. How can Castiel work with a human like this?

Before long, Castiel does not disagree. What Anael told him is true: there is something about these humans worth saving. More - there is something about these humans worth emulating. Castiel grabs Dean by the shirt collar with a fist and pulls him into an embrace. He crashes his lips down upon Dean's before he can think better of the decision.

And as Dean relaxes into the kiss... as he hums his approval and his hands travel up Cas's sides...

Castiel does not deny: whatever else Dean Winchester may be, he is also courageous.

And their Father rewards courage, oftentimes in ways one does not expect.

He prefers this. If he could make a living doing this, he'd be happy. She sniggers at him, and he realises what he's said, shaking his head. Not that. That's not like this at all. This isn't just sex, not the kind of thing you can get in a back alley somewhere, or on a street corner if you've got enough notes in your pocket. This is a connection. Making a connection with someone. Falling in love. It's breathtaking every time. He's not a violent person - he has to say it twice, a little offended the second time, because she's laughing again and he's telling the truth. He's not a violent person, he just happens to be good at what he does and by nature of what he does he gets himself into these situations, and they escalate. If he was a better thief… it's not like violence is even in his job description. She points out that he didn't have a job description, freelancer that he was, and that deserved a bit more of that aforementioned 'connection', because she was gorgeous and he hadn't touched her in a couple of minutes. He prefers this. If he could make a living doing this, he'd be happy.

Christian shook his head, turning and walking toward the door. "I can't," he sighed and looked over his shoulder. "My momma..." he wet his lips. "My momma always said you should never go to bed on an argument..." He shrugged and walked out the room.

He was a few steps down the hall when the door opened again. Squaring his shoulders, he resolutely refused to look over his shoulder.

Steve called his name softly and he stopped, but still didn't turn around. He exhaled slowly as he felt Steve step up behind him; arms wrapping around his waist, Steve's chin on his shoulder. "I'm sorry."

Jack has never believed the old adage ‘all good things come to he who waits’. He’s waited longer than almost anyone and only the worst of things happen to him. He always loosing the people he loves. That seems to be the great truth of the universe. He thinks that he’s almost managed to accept it, until he hears that sound again. The sound of the universe.

The Tardis appears before him, looking even bluer then when he last saw it, if that’s even possible. He prepares himself for the inevitable confrontation. There is no other reason for the Doctor to come to him, not after what happened with the Master.

He doesn’t expect what happens next. A new Doctor tumbles out of the Tardis, crashing into Jack and sending them both sprawling. Then the Doctor looks up at him and grins and Jack is shell-shocked. He can’t see even a glimpse of the hatred he saw in the Doctor’s eyes before. It’s like looking at his Doctor again.

Maybe he should reconsider his feelings about waiting, if this is the reward.
