Canon couples? Sure! Non-canon couples? Absolutely! All we want here is no first times--this is for romance between long-time lovers, how to keep the fires burning when years or even decades have passed, how to fight fair, how to love your best friend, how to end it gracefully.

A reminder of the rules:
  • No more than three prompts per fandom

  • No more than five prompts in a row

  • If one or more of your prompts is filled, you can then prompt again

  • No spoilers within prompts until a week after the airdate/release

  • Warn for spoilers in bold and leave at least three spaces before the text

Remember to follow the format for our lovely coders:

For a single fandom:

RPS, Jensen Ackles/Misha Collins, “So...fatherhood.”

Sherlock (BBC), John/Sherlock, even doing the shopping with Sherlock is an adventure

For multiple fandoms / crossovers:
Torchwood/Supernatural, Ianto/Sam, of course they didn’t know it was the last time

Cassie always thought weddings brought their own atmosphere, a certain disturbance like, pressure bars, wind speeds and a weather front. But Kate loved it so, the agonies of choice between coffee and toffee coloured silks, of themes - Nymphs of New York, or just letting it all hang like the superheroes they were.

"Couldn't we," Cassie leaned over to press a kiss against Kate's temple. "Couldn't we just elope?"

Kate's long, steady stare put paid to that. Just for a minute, those eyes sharp and piercing, before she flipped another page of those sample books for the wedding invitations over again. They were at the dining room table of the Avenger's mansion, the span of the table covered by swathes - of cloth, and albums. Albums ranging from drawings and swatches of cloth re: dress designs, photographs of table settings, and china and crockery - and samples of wedding keepsakes done in lace, silks and the rest of it.

"Forget I said anything."

"Still haven't decided who you're going to tap to walk you down the aisle?"

"Does it-" Cassie reached out to toy with an edge of one of the keepsake sacks. Laced edgings, with the shimmer of a sort of peach? No, not peach, something with a bit of brown in it so it looked not so girl, but something more sophisticated.

"It matters," Kate said, typing information on to a tablet. "We're only going to do this once, and you can't say no to this one."

No, she couldn't, Cassie knew. The wedding was shaping up to have a nod to tradition, with that kicky off beat style the world knew Kate Bishop for.

"Hey," Billy gave a general wave in Cassie's direction as she stepped into the kitchen, hoodie and sweats on. He stood in front of the stove, his hand on the handle of the frying pan. "How goes preparing for the wedding of the century? The likes of which New York has ever seen? Oh," Billy's eyes grew sober when he saw Cassie's face. "That bad? Is Kate going all 'bridezilla'?"

"No," Cassie shook her head, her ponytail bouncing from side to side with the motion. "Kate's being... Kate. Highly organised, ruthlessly efficient, looking - gorgeous while doing so. The only thing I need to do is find someone to walk me down the aisle."

Billy cracked an egg, his voice shaded with sympathy, almost lost in the sizzle as the splash of egg met heated surface. "That's... what about your mom?"

"We get along," Cassie admitted grudgingly. "I mean, we're okay, you know? But she'd - Blake."

"Your stepdad. Yeah, that's rough. What about Mr Stark? Or Captain America? You grew up in the mansion with them, right?"

"I did, but no,not them," Cassie shook her head, and laughed. "To walk down the aisle, to - give me away from childhood to adulthood, that's gotta mean something. It's y'know, symbolic. If it had been up my mom, or Captain America or Tony Stark, they'd still want us to be kids. I can understand that - but no."

Billy grunted his agreement as he served the egg on his plate, seated on the adjacent counter. They were sunny side up, the yolks as bright as sunflowers.

"What do you think?" Cassie tossed the question at him.

"I think, whatever choice you make will be a good one, Cass. Don't sweat it."

Despite the fact that their bed wasn't safe from the dreaded intrusion of wedding business (tonight, scattered across their sheets in full, glossy colour - various cakes, from the traditional white on white, to gold tint with henna designs), it still was just great, just them, here in this room. Cassie snuggled against Kate's shoulder, half sleepy and comfortable against Kate's warmth, and the swell of her breasts.

"I want Tommy, Billy, Teddy and Eli to walk me down the aisle."

"Tommy, Billy - say what now? Four guys? They'd bumrush you down the aisle," Kate marked her place in the album by sticking a post it note in the upper left hand corner of the album before snapping it shut, and leaned back into the pillows to face Cassie.

Not for the last time Cassie marvellled at this thing between Kate and herself, how they worked. Kate shaping the winds and currents of choice and options into the most significant moment of their lives, looking nothing but rested and composed, her hair down and around her shoulders, clad in nothing but a thin cami. Kate's eyes on her, and Cassie had to swallow around the lump that suddenly formed in her throat. Suddenly shy, Cassie dropped her gaze from Kate's, and reached for her hand

"If I were marrying anyone else, I'd want you to walk me down the aisle, just you. Billy asked me about it today, and I was telling him that someone walking me down the aisle, they're taking me from childhood, and handing me over to the other part. The-" Cassie shook her head at this, toying with the tip of Kate's nails. "Being in the YA, with those guys - and you. I was the youngest, but you never not wanted me to grow up, and right now, Kate. I'm grown up, and -" she lifted her eyes, her cheeks flushing. "They are our family, and probably not the picture you wanted but-"

"No," Kate shook her head, as she grabbed at Cassie's hand and held on. "It's perfect."
