He can see the uncomfortable angles of the bones as they stick out of the skin. He can see the place in his eyes where kindness or determination should shine. He can see the regret and despair that have taken their place.

He tortured him on his brothers's orders, to remain as he was, to help humanity in his own way. To help Sam escape.
