It's the oldest line in the book but it still takes Danny by surprise.

so I had this idea based on a scene from an episode of NCIS that I'm watching. In the episode, Gibbs is called to a crime scene and gets dropped off by this mysterious red head woman.

my fic idea is that Steve is an openly gay man in the Naval Reserves who is now the head of the Governor's task force. He's also dating a loud mouth retired detective from Jersey who moved to Hawaii with his daughter.

well Steve is called to a crime scene in the early morning and asks Danny to drop him off there. Steve's team, comprised of Chin, Kono, and another woman (haven't decided who yet) wonder who their boss is dating and then they get a glimpse of the guy and start chatting amongst themselves trying to figure out who the guy is. They'd seen him a couple times before when Steve would get picked up from crime scenes or from HQ, but never got a good view of him.

Greetings again,[livejournal.com profile] comment_ficcers! I’m still [livejournal.com profile] with_rainfall, and this Tuesday’s theme is alternate ending.

Endings are difficult things to get right in canon. They need to tie up any major loose ends and make some sort of sense. They can be wrapped up in a bow (“so the curtain falls on the March family”) or left ambiguous (“and his fate is known only to those who venture into the deeps”). They can be triumphant or depressing, realistic or entirely fantastical, predictable or unexpected, controversial or satisfying, or some mixture of those two extremes. But if the fans aren’t reconciled to them, the creator has a lot to answer for.

So, people, what endings were you dissatisfied with?

The ending you choose to change doesn’t have to be a series finale or the last few pages of a book; it can be the end of a season, an episode/chapter or a character’s story arc.

Remember the rules!

No more than three prompts in one fandom.
No more than five prompts in a row unless one of your prompts is filled. Then you can prompt again.
Spoilers in prompts may be unavoidable, but please do your best to word them as ambiguously as possible.
If your fill contains spoilers, please warn in bold and leave at least three spaces.

Format:

Fandom, Character, Prompt
Fandom, Character/Character, Prompt
Fandom, Character + Character, Prompt

Examples:

LotR(/Silmarillion), Gollum, he goes to the Havens
Tortall, Jon/Thayet, Alanna doesn’t return in #4
Any, any + any, they die in a different way from canon

If beginnings and middles are more your thing, take a look at the lonely prompts!
