A few more days with my mom
Aug. 17th, 2016 10:09 pmThis is going to be quick and later I'll give more of an update about what's been going on with me the last week or so.
My mom was supposed to go back to Detroit but there was a mix up at the airport. I got frustrated with my niece (and my mom) but now that I'm home and calm, here's my (not so epic) airport rant (as I have calmed down some).
1) J was supposed to go in and leave my mom with her luggage and come back out but I ended up having to drive around the airport 2 or 3 times before she called to tell me that my mom's flight info wasn't in the airline's system!
2) my mom ended up buying another ticket for her return trip on Sunday, at the same time and with the same airline.
3) I get home and check her bank statement and come to find out her return trip was with another airline! It's too late now. That flight is set to leave in 25 minutes and she was marked as a no show with the airline.
4) She can't get a refund of that ticket, so she's out of that money.
Oh well. Live and learn. Tomorrow she's going to spend a couple of days with an elderly church friend and Sunday we get to do the airport thing all over again.
Now I'm off to pick up my nephew from work.

Wednesday: Thicker Than Water
Aug. 17th, 2016 08:27 amJust a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and fandom's full name for ease adding to the Lonely Prompts spreadsheet.
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the spoiler cut.
If there are possible triggers in your story, please warn for them in the subject line!
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
Batman (comics) Jason Todd/Bruce Wayne, streets run red
Star Wars: Force Awakens, Poe Dameron/Finn/Rey, blood doesn't make you family
The 100, Clarke/Lexa, blood of my enemies
We use AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2016 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? Check out Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 1 (not very current), Lonely Prompts Spreadsheet 2, or the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
While the Lonely Prompts Spreadsheets and LJ's advanced search options are available, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching for in the future.
