[identity profile] firefox1490.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] comment_fic
Sup everyone, still [livejournal.com profile] firefox1490 hosting this lovely Wednesday. Continuing on with my hostly hosting duties, todays theme is:

Almost maybe, things that almost happened but didn't. Be it split second changes of heart to flashes of paths not taken.

Please forget the rules:
* Three prompts per fandom, and no more than five total. If one of your prompts is filled, you may post another.
* No spoilers for new shows/seasons until at least one week after airing.
* If your fill do contains spoilers, please warn accordingly and leave enough space for people to pass by.

To help the hardworking codemonekys please format your prompts as such:

Inception, Arthur/Eames, He was suppose to have taken the 3:15 train at Paddington station
DCU/Smallville, Clark/Lex, He'd tell him the truth today.
Sailor Moon, Usagi/Mamoru, This was her darkest fear come true

If nothing strikes your fancy feel free to check out the lonely prompts, they always need a bit more love.

Supernatural; gen; Michael, Messenger of God

Raphael had been the Father's favourite, when the world and the angels were young. But he started to question the divine plan, to argue against his Father.

The spires of Heaven quaked with God's rage when Raphael Fell.

The remaining archangels – Gabriel, the healer; Samael, the warrior; Michael, the messenger – were concerned. Their Father forbade even the mention of Raphael's name, and to do so was to be cast into the Pit with those who had Fallen.

Samael, who shone most brightly of all the host, steeled himself and resolved that not a single angel more would Fall. When God created humans, he vowed also to protect the new creatures from the perfidious influence of the Fallen. Gabriel retreated into his work also, refusing to become involved in the politics of Heaven.

As for Michael... at first he tried to continue as though nothing had happened. At first it worked, but slowly, he came to realise that he could not simply excise his lost brother from his world.

So Michael fled, leaving Heaven far behind. There were other deities, of course, and for millennia he hid himself among them, calling himself by other names. Then, one day, an angel found him.
It was only a young angel, not one of significant rank, but the angel named Castiel had found him, and said that his help was required.

And that was how Michael came to be standing in a ring of holy fire, outside which were two human brothers on a quest to save the world.

Michael closed his eyes for a second, sighed, and looked at the humans who said they needed some protection, of the kind only an archangel can provide. “Well, are you going to let me out of here...” he said expectantly, “Or am I supposed to protect you from in here?”
