[identity profile] tiptoe39.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] comment_fic
Happy Monday, y'all. My name is [livejournal.com profile] tiptoe39 and I am tickled pink to be your host for [livejournal.com profile] comment_fic this week.

Inspiration comes in funny ways, doesn't it? We're all here because we love to write, but sometimes we just need a prompt - a beginning. So today your prompts will be the first line. Give your writers a push out of the gate and see where they run with it!

As always, obey the rules:

  • Three prompts per fandom, and no more than five total. If one of your prompts is filled, you may post another.

  • No spoilers for new shows/seasons until at least one week after airing.

  • If your fill contains spoilers, please warn for it and leave enough space for people to pass by.

Feed the overworked codemonkeys correctly formatted prompts:

  • Supernatural, Dean/author's choice, It was the last person Dean ever expected to see through the peephole of the motel room door.

  • Fringe, Peter/Olivia, "We're going to have to talk about this sooner or later."

  • Heroes/Nu!Trek, Peter Petrelli/Jim Kirk, Peter couldn't help but wonder what his mother would say right now.

If you don't see a beginning you'd like to continue, head back to our Lonely Prompts and give them a happy ending instead.

Does this have to be an explicitly shippy fic? Because I could do something that wasn't, but if that's what you want...

It doesn't have to be explicitly shippy. It could be one sided feelings not returned or if the prompt steers you in a different direction that's good too.

"Don't you like me?"

If it was anyone else here, Sam would think it was pure sarcasm. If it was anyone else, it would have to be. For starters, no one would ask in the first place unless they expected to get a snarky "No" in return. (Annie would be the only other one he'd even think of not asking sarcastically, and she wouldn't ask the question in the first place.)

Even with all the police work he's done, though, Chris still has a certain wide-eyed sincerity. He's almost like a grown-up Charlie Brown - certain to screw up everything he does, but still willing to get up and try again. Incompetent he can be, but lazy he is not. Even his language reflects that - Sam has just barely gotten used to the words flung around that no one bats an eyelash at but would be considered shockingly offensive back in his own time, but Chris' language is never that coarse. In a way, he still hasn't grown up yet, but when he does he will be a wonderful person.

He doesn't say anything like this, of course. He just gives him a tolerant smile and says "Of course I do."

Thank you for this, it was quite sweet. I love Sam's thoughts about Chris being a bit more innocent than his colleagues and determined too if not always brilliant.

I love Chris. He's so adorkable. And I love the fact his screw-ups don't prevent him from trying again.
