Thursday: Fix-It (Correcting Canon)
Feb. 17th, 2011 12:32 amHey all. By now you know who I am. Sadly, this'll be my last day guest-hosting. Thanks for having me. :)
Today's theme is Fix-It (or, if you prefer, the "What Should Have Happened in Canon Rather Than What Did Happen" theme). Ever get that feeling of "noooo, no, that's not how it was s'posed to go down"? You're in luck - here's your chance to correct canon. They got it horribly, horribly wrong & now you can help make it right.
Please keep these rules in mind:
Now you. Go. Fix canon!

- Only three prompts for the same fandom & only five prompts in a row (though if one of your prompts is filled, you can prompt again).
- No spoilers in your prompts for at least a week after the airdate/release.
- Warn for any spoilers for your fic in bold and leave at least three spaces before the text.
Nothing grab your interest? That's alright, there are plenty of Lonely Prompts out there. Feel free to check 'em out.
- Supernatural, Sam + Castiel (+ or /) Dean, beginning of season 4 - Sam's working up a viable plan to spring Dean out of Hell, Cas shows up to help (or maybe he shows up to say "no that's ok I got this" then ends up helping anyway) & together they save Dean before he breaks
- Merlin, Arthur/Merlin, the Witchfinder finds real proof that Merlin is a sorcerer, Arthur finds out & stops the Witchfinder from telling Uther, threatens the Witchfinder to leave & then confronts Merlin (happy resolution rather than angst, definitely)
- Hawaii Five-0, Steve/Danny, they take their CHiPs debate all the way back to Steve's house where there might be some childish shoving & getting up in each other's faces... & then, you know... (*cough*sex*cough*)
Now you. Go. Fix canon!

Date: 2011-02-17 07:33 am (UTC)Fill - Resolution (Michael & Lucifer, Dean/Cas) 1/2
Date: 2011-02-17 05:55 pm (UTC)The battleground is set, has been set since the very beginning. The connection it has with their vessels increases their strength; the bones of their ancestors lie beneath their feet, former vessels that had been discarded because the time was not right, each one giving their blood so that this could happen, so that Sam and Dean Winchester could house Lucifer and Michael and finally, finally there would be a conclusion to everything.
Michael wields his sword, bright white flames of fury and grace clinging to the blade. Lucifer’s glows an ethereal blue with cold and ice, and Lucifer is suddenly aware that this is really it, that everything he’s been waiting for all these years, for millennia, is about to be realised.
Behind Lucifer, thousands of demons spread over the land, filling the cemetery, the roads beyond it. The whole town is full to the brim with Lucifer’s creations on one side, and God’s on the other. Angels, each with their own vessel, oppose his forces. There are fewer angels, and Lucifer sneers at that, because really, it’s ridiculous. Simple minded humans who were made for this, who refused to meet their destiny and wouldn’t let the angels in. God knows he’s had enough trouble with his own vessel, but that’s the thing about being the adversary: you can do things in your own time. He knows, however, that although his army might be larger in numbers, the angels have the greater strength. But what they do doesn’t matter; it’s Michael and Lucifer, and whoever wins, wins. The rest are all just cannon fodder. They won’t change anything.
“Ready, brother?” Lucifer asks, a sad smile forcing its way through his vessel’s lips. He can’t help it; he doesn’t want to kill his brother, but this is the only way anything will change.
Michael nods, and they both rush forward.
There’s the sharp clash of blade on blade, and as they connect their armies rush together, and suddenly light and blood and the harsh shriek of creatures being burned out of their skulls fills the field. Some of the demons have blades that can kill an angel, and the ground is scorched with the heat of angelic grace as it flares and dies.
Michael circles Lucifer, swings his blade in again. Michael is strong, but Lucifer is quick, and he leaps out of the way before the sword connects. A flame of fire suddenly leaps outward, catches Lucifer on the shoulder. He doesn’t show his pain, but the heat eats away at the flesh of his vessel even after he puts out the fire with a small twist of his grace. He slashes, and catches Michael’s forearm as he turns. Michael’s eyes flash dangerously, and Lucifer can see the agony underlying the fury. The ice of Lucifer’s blade hurts Michael just as much as the fire hurts Lucifer.
The battle around them fades out, although it still rages, the volume slipping into mute as Lucifer and Michael fight, stepping around each other, slashing, hacking, thrusting with their blades. It’s elegance and practiced skill fuelled with a fury that runs so deep that neither can of them can even remember quite where it began.
It wasn’t the humans, not really. They just embodied everything that was already wrong with Heaven, with God.

Date: 2011-02-17 07:34 am (UTC)Argue: Steve/Danny, they take their CHiPs debate all the way back to Steve's house where there might
Date: 2011-02-17 08:53 am (UTC)"I will not just go with it, no," Danny objects as he clicks his seat belt into place. "No, no, my friend, because you are incorrect. See, I'm Erik Estrada, and you're-"
"If you call me Larry Wilcox one more time, Danno, I swear to God-"
"-fine, fine then, you can be Tom Reilly then, unless you'd prefer Bruce Penhall-"
"Jesus, Danno, you know all their names-"
And so it goes, neither of them really getting a full sentence out throughout the drive, and by the time they're pulling into Steve's driveway Danny's yelling and his hands are flapping around his face. "-Penhall, you know, you could totally be him, he was a standup guy-"
"If he' such a standup guy, why don't you have any interest in being him?"
Danny blinks. "Because I'm Erik Estrada," he repeats in the tone that Steve's heard him using with Gracie, patience and hope that repetition will make it sink in, only Steve's not seven years old and that voice hadn't worked on him when he was.
Steve unlocks the door and walks in, Danny following behind, already midsentence again, and did he seriously start sentences in the middle like that, or had Steve just missed it? "-problem is, you just want to be in charge all the time, that's why you want to be Estrada so bad."
"I have to be in charge all the time?" Steve repeats. "Really, Danno, you think it's because of some control freak aspect of my personality-"
"Of course it is-"
"-and not because Erik Estrada is the cool one and I'm clearly the cool one-"
"Oh my God, you're so not the cool one, if anyone's the cool one maybe Kono's the cool one-"
And somehow they're in each other's space like they always seem to be, breathing each other's air, and Steve can suddenly see exactly how excited Danny's eyes are, the bright glint of blue in front of him, and Danny's cheeks are a little flushed, and it's like a switch is flipped in Steve's brain as he reaches out and grabs Danny by the arms and kisses him, hard and sharp and sudden. When he pulls back, Danny's not talking about Erik Estrada or Bruce Penhall or who the fuck ever, he's just staring at Steve like his world's been tilted on its axis, like everything he knows in life is suddenly a lie, and before Steve can make any further sense of it Danny's grabbing him right back and pulling Steve's head down for a kiss that's just ridiculous, teeth and tongue and lips and it's searingly, stupidly hot.
"Control issues, Steven," Danny says, and Steve has no idea what the fuck he's talking about, so he just says, "Sure, Danno," as he leans back in. It's not hard to get Danny angled and walking backwards towards the couch, easy to push him onto it and follow after, easy to slide hands into clothing and get at what he's aiming for, and then Danny's straining and swearing and bucking underneath him until he's reduced to a varied chorus of "Steve, fuck please, God," and Steve backs off the couch and kneels next to it and swallows Danny down, and then there's more swearing and a choked-out groan as Danny comes hard and fast.
Steve's got his hand down his own pants, and it takes a minute but then Danny's sliding of the couch to lean against him, his fingers closing around Steve's and pushing him faster, rougher, and his thumb reaches up on a downward stroke and rubs across the head of Steve's cock and down right below, and Steve tosses his head back into the couch cushion and loses it.
Danny's leaning on his chest when Steve finally looks down again. "Good avoidance tactic," he says casually, "but I'm still Erik Estrada."
"God, it's like a dog with a bone," Steve replies wonderingly, and then he leans and twists so he can kiss Danny again and feel the curve of Danny's smile against his lips.

Date: 2011-02-17 10:34 pm (UTC)Both open their mouths to shout at him but he was already gone. Michael and Lucifer looked at each other and turned away, crossing their arms as they stewed.
Dean looked up as he heard the flutter of wings. "Cas! Where the hell have you been? Things got quiet and-"
"I have ended this. Now I wish to experience Ice Cream."
Dean looked at him and found himself zapped to a Baskin Robbins, sitting across from Cas with Rocky Road Ice Cream. He gaped at Cas then decided to say fuck it and started eating while Sam found himself across from Gabriel who was grinning like the cat who caught the canary.

And Cas could feel the soul, feel the one thing that made Sam Winchester whole, the thing that made him the good man that he was.
"Thank you, Sam Winchester." Castiel said. And he knew, he just knew, that Sam would be okay, even if he did scratch the wall.

"Hello Lucifer."
The dimmer ball of light stopped whirling, and a voice came out of it. "Hello, Castiel."
"Where is Adam?"
"In the corner. He's pretty beat up- he wouldn't stop trying to get between us."
"Where is Michael?"
"He's about to go insane. It's a good thing you are here- you need to take him home."
"I'm taking Adam out first."
"Fine. See you later."
Castiel picked up the Righteous Man and flew up to the earth amd deposited him in the nearest hotel bed. He prayed to the Father that Adam would be okay.

Date: 2011-02-17 08:24 am (UTC)Fill: "His Piece to Play" Part 1 of ? - PG, Suikoden III, Sasarai, Dios, & Sarah
Date: 2011-11-28 12:26 am (UTC)"Come in, please," Sasarai answered Dios' familiar tapping at his door with a pleasant smile. He and his newly appointed Chief of Staff were still getting used to working with one another, but, for Sasarai at least, it was an easy adjustment. Dios had already proved his most important qualities to him- his loyalty, his courage, his heart. Honestly, Sasarai thought he loved him a little bit already. As bishop of Crystal Valley and overseeing bishop of the entire central region of Harmonia, Sasarai was an exceedingly busy individual. Although Dios had accepted the position with full awareness of this fact, Sasarai was trying to hold back some things and ease him into things. Part of that was setting aside his personal problems during work hours and wearing his best smile.
"S-sir," Dios stuttered. His face was pale and nervous as he entered, although at the sight of Sasarai's beaming brilliance, he couldn't help but smile back a little. "There's someone here to see you."
"...Someone I might not want to see?" Sasarai questioned. He had no excuse; he would most certainly meet with whoever had arrived, but it was best to know who he was coming in ahead of time, if only to allow himself a moment to compose himself.
"...It's difficult to say. ...It's Bishop Sunheibou, and a guest of his."
"...And the guest?" Sasarai pressed.
"Please," Dios pulled his black hat off his head and squeezed it between his gloved hands, "I really don't know what to say about this. Just see for yourself."
"Fine." It was important to continue to show Dios he trusted his judgment. "Let them in then."
His chief of staff was happy to stay out of the way as the western bishop, Tjasse "Sunheibou" marched cheerfully into Sasarai's office, with a veiled woman trailing behind him. Dios was even more relieved when Tjasse reached after his guest and closed the door, keeping him out with a firm click.
Maybe it was a nice change that Tjasse, who usually stood at or near the bottom of the food chain when it came to the twelve members of the Counsel, had a sharp, defined grin on his face, but at this exact moment, Sasarai couldn't think of it as such a good thing. There was something about the pose and posture of the veiled woman that struck him as familiar, but he wasn't confident enough in his estimation to make any leaps of faith. "You and I are really going to have to talk, Sasarai," Tjasse began, his far-western accent adding a falsely leisurely touch to his weighted words.
Tjasse pulled over a chair and plopped himself down across the desk from his colleague. The woman remained standing.
"You can take a seat," Sasarai assured her. It was sort of rude that Tjasse hadn't offered one to her first. There were always two chairs kept in the office aside from the one Sasarai preferred to use. For a moment she stayed in place and Sasarai imagined she might have chosen to stand instead, but just as he was forcing his curious gaze back to Tjasse, she stepped aside and settled herself carefully in the chair, arranging her blue-gray skirt neatly around her (those motions were familiar too, but how characteristic could they be considered to be?)
"I have a lady here with me who's been asking to see you," Tjasse began to lay his cards on the table, "From the moment she came into my care. You see, some of my operatives were doing a little investigating and covering the tail of our retreating troops at the end of our incursion into the Grasslands, and they happened to come across her in quite a state."
