Wednesday: Toys
Feb. 23rd, 2011 10:01 amGood morning and welcome to Wednesday. I'm still
badfalcon and we're moving on to today's topic of toys. So whether we're looking at spicing up the fun in the bedroom, or a good old game of Risk...
Please just remember:
And, as ever, the correct format for prompts is as follows
Criminal Minds, Reid, playing Risk
RPS, Christian Kane/Pauley Perrette, "what does that do?"
If today's round of h/c doesn't take your fancy, please remember there's always the Lonely Prompts
Please just remember:
- Only three prompts for the same fandom & only five prompts in a row (though if one of your prompts is filled, you can prompt again).
- No spoilers in your prompts for at least a week after the airdate/release.
- Warn for any spoilers for your fic in bold and leave at least three spaces before the text.
- Take the monkeys into consideration when writing your prompt. If the prompt is too long, it becomes very hard to record it properly in the archive. Fics are also meant to be comment sized! If you get very inspired, that's ok, but long detailed prompts deserve long detailed stories, and that's not what we're about. Thank you!

Date: 2011-04-27 04:32 pm (UTC)The first week: Parker bouncing on her toes, begging "Please, Eliot, please please please?" and Sophie reasoning, "Just once, Nate. We don't ever just get to go play." Nate, sighing, resigned, "Fine, fine. Once."
The second week: Nate, protesting, "You said once!" and Sophie wheedling, "But it was so much fun last time..." and Hardison wavering, "Yeah, come on, it's just for a few hours."
The third week: Eliot, yelling up the stairs, "Come on, people, we're going to be late!" and Parker squealing in delight and Nate barrelling down the stairs in shorts and a stained shirt.
The fourth week: Playground thursdays are a Leverage family tradition.

Date: 2011-02-23 01:22 pm (UTC)Despite the fact that he could have used that money to get some penny candy to share between the two of them he realized that Sammy had never had a present that wasn't practicle.
For their birthdays Dad got them new underpants and socks and a new jacket. Pants and shirts were bought as needed. But toys were a waste of time.
For entertainment they had the tv and any broken crayons and scrap paper they could steal. Dad made them practice knife fighting and Dean was deemed old enough to use a gun so he had to practice that too.
Dean was determined, though he didn't know what he was going to get when he started saving.
Dad is there when he gives them to Sammy on his birthday and when Dad angrily questions him as to where he got the money he's afraid Dad is going to make him get rid of them. when he explains about scouring the sidewalks for fallen change Dad calms down and doesn't say anything else.
Sammy loses the soldier over time, all but the one that gets jammed in the ashtray. That's what makes it so special, more than the legos their father bought that got stuck in the heating vents or any other present.
It was the last of the first and it was just one of the things that means "home" to the boys.
