Monday - Titles
Mar. 21st, 2011 09:00 amGreetings writers! Today is Monday and I hope it's a good one for you all! This weeks host was unfortunately not able to participate so me and my fellow mods will share the duties this week. We're going to start with Titles, that is the title of a book, a series, a song or movie has to be the complete prompt (Please leave the creator within parentheses for the curious). Besides that anything goes as long as you follow the rules:
Besides that remember to have fun and to format your prompts as follows to make it easier for our code monkeys! (Second set is for cross-overs)
(tag=Titles)
* No more than fives prompts in a row
* No more than three prompts from the same fandom
* If your prompt is answered you may leave a new one
* No spoilers in your prompt until at least a week after publication/airdate
* If you have spoilers in your fill please warn accordingly.

Ryou started upright, banging his knee on the towel rack for his troubles and staring at himself in the mirror. His toothbrush hung limply from the corner of his mouth as he waited for his mind to catch up to his body and resume his morning ritual. For a moment he had thought... but no, that was impossible.
He continued going through the motions, absent-mindedness evident in the numerous stubbed toes and pricked fingers that added to his throbbing knee as he got ready for the day. He was at school before he really came back to himself, snapped out of his daze by an irritated teacher scolding him for daydreaming. Making his apologies, the boy turned back to his work, managing a solid twelve minutes of effort before his eyes wandered back to the window, catching his own gaze in the reflection it cast.
He knew what he was looking for was impossible, but he continued to search, looking for a hint of the smirk he knew so well or the distant gleam of mischief that looked so strange in his own eyes. Nothing like that had happened for a very long time, and if he were to believe Yugi and the others, it was never going to happen again. And he had made his peace with it, barley, managing to push the memories and wishes aside until this morning where he had sworn, for just a second, he had heard that familiar-strange voice.
This morning had unlocked everything he had been trying to push down and brought that familiar pang of loneliness rushing back to settle in its old home like a long lost pet. This time he made no effort to push it away. Tomorrow he would step back on the road of recovery, for now he was happy with his loneliness and his dreams.

Date: 2011-03-21 08:13 am (UTC)A Companion To Wolves - Supernatural, Lucifer/Castiel, NC17
Date: 2011-03-21 05:18 pm (UTC)Lucifer had hated humanity, calling them animals, but after long enough Castiel realised he had always seen them as something less than that; Lucifer had no qualms about laying waste to entire continents, but showed a surprising tenderness around other creatures.
He knew he played no part in Lucifer's ability to show kindness to some species, but he could not help feeling involved. Lucifer had destroyed so much of what mankind had created, and restored so much of what mankind had destroyed. Castiel had watched in relative silence, the quiet strangely comforting now he was almost alone.
Lucifer seemed to prefer the quiet too, and Castiel once interrupted it to ask why.
In the Pit, for all that Lucifer had been alone, he could still hear the others in Hell. After millenia of listening to little but human screaming, he had become immune to cries of pain, but he certainly didn't desire to hear any more.
The funny thing was, Hell was quiet at first. It was the humans in it who created its hierarchy.
Every temperate country seemed larger with its forests restored - some growing slower than others, Lucifer letting them find their own balance in their own time - and Castiel had taken to long walks, no point in rushing with all the Earth to explore and an eternity to explore it in.
Lucifer had come to him in a dream here, once, and Castiel could not see the wolves as he had once before, but he knew of their presence, written in prints in the snow and their voices in the distance.
Castiel couldn't claim to be shocked when he felt a warm hand close around his waist and a cold nose nuzzling at his neck.
"Feeling nostalgic?"
"Maybe," Castiel replied, letting the hand slide under his shirt, contrast of skin-on-skin and the cold air. He wondered what had made Lucifer turn up, but knew better than to ask, turned to kiss familiar lips, wrap his arms around a familiar back. "Feeling lonely?"
Lucifer smirked for a split second before snapping his fingers, melting and drying away a patch of snow, and pushing Castiel down onto the ground.
Lucifer's fingers were as careful as his tongue, teasing and stroking Castiel until he was as convinced as Lucifer seemed to be that he could break. It was almost a relief to have that gentleness replaced by Lucifer's weight on his back, stretching out over him and pinning him in place, but even in this some tenderness remained between the commands. Lucifer did not speak sweet nothings, but he would lick and bite and kiss patterns into Castiel's skin that said more than words could, squeezing the breath out of him until with enough hard thrusts he came untouched and soundless.
A hand on Lucifer's hips was all the communication needed to have him stay inside, Castiel needing that feeling of fullness a little longer, and more than that, needing Lucifer to use him to the point of completion. He'd spat and swallowed before, let Lucifer mark every inch of his skin as he had marked Lucifer's, but it had always been on their own terms.
Strange how somewhere so sensitive could be numb in other ways, his skin barely registering the damp when Lucifer finally pulled out, but he was focused elsewhere, eyes shut and Lucifer's warmth a gift.
Lucifer seemed to register his mood, not yet disappearing, sliding a hand down Castiel's arm to wrap around his wrist. Lucifer seemed fascinated by touch, and Castiel ached at the thought he had been denied it throughout his time in the Pit; wondered how he or any of his brothers had ever thought their brother's punishment truly just.
He didn't catch the opening syllables of Lucifer's whisper, but there were languages that did not ask for the listener to be there from the start, repeating their expressions in circular rhythms.
Why Lucifer called him angel, he did not know.
Why Lucifer called him a true angel, he did, and slid his fingers down the few inches that let him link their hands together.
There weren't words for that, and Castiel did not try to make them.

Louis shuffles his note cards in his hands, glancing between them and the wispy, willowy young woman next to him. She stares straight ahead of her, round eyes glazed with thoughts (most likely in Russian) of the husband that she is quickly approaching, the lingering patches of dirty snow that comfort parts of her mind, and the dreamy, faraway port she had bid "прощание" to a week earlier.
Louis settles on the first car he had written and takes a deep gulp of air. He turns to his new stepmother and says with a nervously tight smile. "Privet. Ya vash nove-e sin."
The young woman (God, there was no way she could be older than him) turned to him with her little mouth puckered and her eyebrows stitched. Then, her eyebrows relaxed and she smiled. She put a hand (pale and thin and pixie-esque and so, so warm) on his arm and said, "That was very amusing. Thank you."

Date: 2011-04-06 01:43 am (UTC)"Wayward son of mine, your freedom is over," Raphael snarls, trapping Grace and binding Balthazar to his vessel for the time being. "You failed in your duties, and this cannot stand."
"Ra-"
"Quiet," she cuts him off, and glares down at him. "Your creation was a mistake, nearly as bad as a mistake as Castiel's creation."
Balthazar smiles feebly at her. "Yet we still exist."
"He will not." Raphael leans down and kisses him, pouring her Grace through him as she burns and binds him to her will, threatening to reclaim what was once entirely hers but stopping before that, leaving Balthazar alive.
He pants, helplessly.
"I have one condition for your freedom to be renewed, and if you fail this I will take you back into myself," she says, and watches him focus. "Capture Castiel. I do not care if he is alive or dead when you bring him to me."
She watches him weigh loyalties and survival and she watches his eyes harden.
"The debt between us was settled," Balthazar says at last. "I'll do it."
Raphael nods and leaves another portion of herself in Balthazar to keep him leashed before she lets him go.
It burns as always to tear herself in so many directions, but Raphael is long used to that pain.
