deleted scenes and season 3 thoughts

so I'm thinking...when Steve disappeared, wouldn't it have been something if Danny pulled out that number and called it and season 3 opens with either Doris answering and telling Danny that Steve is okay, and then Steve gets on the phone and is like "Danny, how'd you get this number?" and then danny would have to say that Joe gave it to him and then Steve would be all pissed at Joe, and maybe re-pissed (I so know that's not a word) at Doris.
