THURSDAY: Birthdays
Jun. 30th, 2011 12:28 am Oh noes! It's
arnica on my last day and I am gonna miss doing this because y'all have made this very fun. So since I'm signing off, let's leave with a party! A birthday party! The prompt for today is birthdays. Birthdays can be a lot of things for a lot of people. They can be a day you try to ignore because you don't want to be older, or a day you're looking forward to because you do want that extra year. You can spend the day alone, with family, or in the middle of a huge party. But everyone has a birthday so let's write about them!
As always, please follow the rules:
• No more than one prompt per post, three prompts per fandom, and no more than five total. If one of your prompts is filled, you may post another.
• No spoilers in the prompts for new shows/seasons until at least one week after airing.
• If your fill contains spoilers, please label it clearly with the fandom/show and leave enough space for people to pass by.
• Feel free to fill a prompt even if it is already filled, the more fic the merrier!
Be kind to our codemonkeys and format your prompt properly:

- Torchwood, Team, It's hard to plan a surprise birthday party when the whole hub is covered by cameras and the dinosaur keeps stealing the cake.
- Doctor Who, 11/River, A thousand years old is a very big deal and she's going to treat it that way.
- Dark Tower series, Eddie/Suzanna Roland and Jake, With time so warped Roland isn't sure when his birthday is anymore. Jake decides it's today

Today-
Now that the day came Amy wasn't sure it wasn't the best idea anymore because the Doctor is not amused. She's not sure why though, maybe it had to do with the cake all over his favorite bowtie.

If you had, maybe you'd have thought well, this is it and maybe you'd have noted seventeen, i'll never get any older and maybe you'd have wondered what would it be like to be a legal adult and you definitely would have partied for all it was worth, because hell -- it's not every day that you turn as old as you'll ever be.
He didn't know what was coming for you either.
If he had, maybe he'd have said happy birthday, rach and maybe he'd have noted seventeen, you'll stay beautiful like this forever and maybe he'd have wondered what will it be like when you're gone and he definitely would have whispered i love you in the dead of night when there were only the stars to hear it.

Date: 2011-07-02 02:29 am (UTC)("Ask all you like, Mr. Eames," Arthur said, smiling down into his coffee. "I'll never tell.")
So Eames thinks for a good bit, trying to choose between 365 days for which is the best.
He finally settles on the day they met, that very first time, the one nobody else in the world knows about, when Eames stole the best operative the Americans ever had, and Arthur saved the life of the most annoying man he'd ever meet.
Arthur smiles at him, laughing at his gift, so Eames pulls him closer for the second part, and whispers into his mouth, "Happy birthday, darling."
(It'll be three more years, celebrating the day they met, before Arthur tells him he actually guessed correctly.)
