Written for Week 1 at therealljidol. The prompt is Black Rainbow.
I have no idea where this is going, but I managed to write 200 words!
champagne wishes and black rainbow dreams
"Dreaming of a black rainbow means that you will be victimized by believing in the sweet words of others, so pay special attention to those who have been too sweet recently, and don't be deceived."
They were being given a hard sale. Danny and Steve knew this. It was easy, at first, to buy into the hype that the investment company was telling them...to believe there was even a whisper of a chance they could make it out big their first go around as Stan had become, but he'd been in the game for years.
On the eve of them signing over nearly half of their land to this investment company, Danny was having second thoughts about the entire thing. "Black rainbows...," Danny muttered with a shake of his head. "It's those damn black rainbows."
Steve, knowing what Danny was talking about, offered another suggestion, "We do have the extension option. If you're not entirely sure about this, we can ask for the extension and research the company and their offer more."
Danny bit his lip. He knew it was a good offer, but now it was sounding too good to be true.
"Do it," Danny said with a release of a breath he was holding. "Call them and ask for an extension. Start with a full time and bargain down to at least half of that. We are going to need it all."
