Hello, everyone. I’m
squidgiepdx and your host for the week. Today's theme is random tags. How random, eh? So if you need inspiration, you can head over to AO3 and click on the "Random Tags" part of Browse Tags, and get a bunch of them. Then all you need to do is pick something and run with it, whether it's writing a story about Roommates or Forehead Touching, or maybe even Drag Queens. Whatever the tag, run with it!
Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and the fandom's full name
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here. Unfortunately, DW doesn’t have a cut tag, so use your best judgment when it comes to spoilers.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above-mentioned spoiler cut.
Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt
Some examples to get the ball rolling...
+ due South, Benton Fraser/Ray Kowalski, "Roommates"
+ Star Trek, Any &or/any, "Forehead Touching"
+ Stargate Atlantis, Any &or/Any, "Drag Queens"
We are now using AO3 to bookmark filled prompts. If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3 please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2024 collection. See further notes on this new option here.
Not feeling any of today’s prompts? You can use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community. Fret not, DW members; we are working on a way to search through old entries for prompts for you! As of right now, the best way to search for a lonely prompt on DW is to search the community’s archive, which can be found [[HERE]].
While the use of LJ's advanced search and DW’s archive are options, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching in the future.
As a friendly reminder about our schedule, Lonely Prompts and sharing completed fills are encouraged on Sundays, while new themes and prompts are posted on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Saturdays are a Free for All day. We'll share our posts on DW and LJ for everyone's convenience. Keep an eye out for notifications!
If you have a Dreamwidth account and would feel more comfortable participating there, please feel free to do so…and spread the word!

Date: 2024-12-17 04:43 pm (UTC)"What happened?" Mycroft asked. "Please tell me they're not about to die. Having the police on the premises would mean we'd have to shut down and I don't want to lose money on this venture."
"No," Greg said cheerfully, "they're just drunk. Santa offered them a drink and stupidly they accepted. I suspect it was spiked with neat alcohol."
From inside the grotto came a "HoHoHo!"
"Right, well you'd better get the Reindeer to help you drag them into the store room to sober up. Can we cope for this afternoon?"
"Sally wisely didn't accept a drink, but she'll be the sole elf, unless I draft in Molly."
"Molly's far too useful working front of house. The staff I inherited are too temperamental to be relied on."
"Not to mention most of them are dead and tend to dematerialise at vital moments."
"True. Well, Sally can cope with Jim and Seb. We'll leave it at that."

Date: 2025-01-19 04:35 am (UTC)A dull thud and a muffled laugh in the dark.
"You should really wash all that shit off."
"You don't smell so rosy yourself, Jay."
"I'm not the one who's more flammable than usual."
Jason's clothes were still damp from his run through the sprinklers. Roy probably had debris stuck in his matted hair.
Jason didn't push Roy towards the shower. Pulling and gripping him closer instead, his mouth opened easily to Roy's soft pressure.

Date: 2025-01-19 04:38 am (UTC)Slow steps echoed as Two-Face circled, his fingers trailing over caped shoulders.
"I had it under control."
Batman caught his hand, careful not to get blood on his new shirt's loosely rolled sleeve.
"We're short on time."
In the quiet, Two-Face imagined a scream still ringing in the air, but it was merely distant sirens approaching.
He helped Batman to his feet before gathering his jacket with his clean hand.
"Home Base?"
"Home Delta."
"Heh. Already trying to make it up to me?"
"I will, if you beat me there."
