It can be one character discovering something about another character, multiple characters discovering something together, be creative. Bonus points for Real Family style discoveries.
The Rules:
- Don’t prompt more than 5 prompts in a row or 3 prompts per fandom. When someone has answered your prompt, you can prompt again.
- No spoilers in your prompt until at least 1 week after the original airing
or publication date. If there are spoilers in your fic, you must warn
in bold and leave at least 3 spaces.
- Thank your fic providers they thrive on feedback.
- For the sake of the code monkeys’ sanity remember to format your prompts correctly.

Date: 2011-10-22 11:48 pm (UTC)“What class?” Willow replied flipping pancakes at the stove.
“The German class she talked about wanting to take but she would have to study over the summer and take a test to get in.” Buffy said.
“Oh gosh. School. How much longer until it starts?” Willow asked turning to look at Buffy still holding a spatula.
“Three days a go. She got into the class and tested out of some French class and no matter what she said school would not let her get out of math. The college is letting her sit in on some Thursday lectures.” Spike answered standing at the back door.
“Is that why she’ll be home late today?” Buffy said.
“No lecture today but she wanted to see how long it would take her to get from school to lecture.” Spike explained putting out the cigarette in the ash tray by the door Joyce and Dawn insist he use.
“Did you help her study? She needed a parent’s signature right?”
“I claimed to be Joyce’s brother looking after the Bit.” Spike shrugged as he answered.
“Thank you Spike.”
“She’s my bit and her history teacher is a bloody idiot.”
After Spike walked into the basement Buffy demanded “Do you even know what grade she’s in? Did you ask her if you could move into her house or did you just move in and forget her?”
Willow didn’t answer, only moved her lips trying to say something. Leaving her plate of half eaten pancakes behind Buffy followed Spike out of the kitchen.

Date: 2012-08-11 12:52 am (UTC)What he didn’t expect to find was mounds of research having to do with werewolves. Red lines marred most of the pages along with Stiles’ own notes. There were several things that were noted for Stiles to ask Derek about.
He was reading about different plants that could harm a werewolf when there was a hastily added page. ‘Fumes are harmful, powder is harmful, smelling is harmful, touching is painful, ingesting leads to hallucinations – takes longer time to heal when under the influence of wolfsbane. Alpha speeds healing.’
There were names attached to certain things. Isaac Lahey, Erica Reyes, Boyd, Scott, Derek, Peter, even Allison and the Argents were featured in Stiles’ notes. Each person, each thing that Stiles had encountered he meticulously wrote out what he knew, what they experienced and further research.
It was like a punch to the gut. He knew his kid wasn’t crazy, they had appointments to make sure of that in the past. And everything was starting to make sense. The crimes that had gone unsolved, the acts of vandalism, attacks, they had all come to a stop. Everything coincided with what Stiles notes said.
A soft cough interrupted his thoughts and the Sheriff looked up at his son who was toeing at the floor nervously, “Hey Dad.”
“Stiles,” The sheriff whispered before he cleared up his mess and gestured for Stiles, “So were you ever going to tell me or where you going to let me keep thinking that you were becoming a delinquent that I’d eventually have to lock up?”
“Well you see, Dad, there are things out there…”

Date: 2011-10-12 06:18 pm (UTC)You and your prompts... grrr
Date: 2012-06-22 03:50 pm (UTC)But one day they’re at a crime scene- and it doesn’t even make sense, it’s a burglar who just graduated to murder, there isn’t even any- and John must have said something or done something or breathed in some significant manner because Sherlock is suddenly looking at him and he says, “Oh.”
And then he must see something else, something John’s much more grateful about, because for once he practices restraint, or decorum, or- God forbid- tact and just goes on with the investigation.
John keeps expecting something to change, because it always does- his sister stopped shouting at him for months when he told her, and he could tell when Lestrade’s background check had finished because the suspicion changed into forced normality- but Sherlock keeps texting him in the middle of anything and everything, his insults are just as cutting and his respect of John’s personal space doesn’t increase a single iota. After a week he stops expecting it to be brought up in horribly awkward conversation; after a month he stops searching for pity in Sherlock's eyes.
Later, he thinks that maybe this was what helped him move on.
