Cait N. here and today's theme is flying monkeys. Yes, you read right, flying monkeys! It could be that Temperance Brennen is a closet Wizard of Oz fan. Or maybe flying monkeys are the latest thing to come out of the Rift. Put your fingers to the keyboard and let those ideas fly!

Remember the rules:
* Five prompts in a row, no more than three from one fandom and if you get a prompt filled you can leave a new one.
* No spoilers until a week after air-/publication date, if you're wondering if something's a spoiler it probably is.
* Follow the examples for correct formating:

Bones, Bones/Brennen, Seely finds her secret stash of TWOZ memorabilia
Warehouse 13, Pete + Myka, ruby slippers aren't the only Frank L. Baum artifact
NCIS, Tony + Ziva, "I'll go on a date with you when monkeys fly!"

Have fun!

Monkey Business (S7 spoilers) Pt2

Hours later Castiel awakes to the sound of a hundred animals crying out in fear. He sits up and stares out of his cage into the dark night, a horrible sense of not right invading the mind of his primate host. He holds his breath, trying his best not to follow his new instincts and scream along with his fellow animal inmates as the dangerous presence draws ever closer.

"Shut up you noisy little buggers!"

A deep, unearthly growl follows this command and, although every hair on his gibbon body is standing on end, Castiel can't help but feel slightly relieved. He stands and clumsily walks over to the bars of his cage, which he grabs hold of with both of his long-fingered hands.

"Crowley," he calls out into the darkness, his voice much higher and rougher than it had been in Jimmy's vessel.

There is a pause. Then the lights of the zoo irrupt and there is once more the agitated chattering of a hundred animals. Crowley's Hell Hound silences them all with another menacing growl.

"Castiel?" Crowley questions as he looks about for what Castiel assumes he thinks is a human vessel.

"Down here," Castiel says before screeching to better capture the demon's attention.

Crowley spins towards the sound and stares in shock at Castiel. "You're..."

"Yes," Castiel sighs. "I am a Northern white-cheeked gibbon."

There is a further moment of silence before Crowley breaks down laughing. He clutches the bridge of his nose to try to control himself, but every time he glances at Castiel his whole frame shakes at what Castiel guesses to him is a ludicrous situation. He doubts demons have ever found it necessary to possess animals.

"Are you finished?" Castiel asks impatiently.

Crowley merely grins in reply as he straightens up and forces down the last of his mirth. "Well, I must admit, I did come here expecting some sort of monkey business - but this..." Crowley chuckles to himself as he approaches Castiel's cage. "Earlier today I got a call on my private line from a Miss Claire Novak. She claimed that the angel Castiel wanted to meet me in a zoo at midnight. When asked how she knew this she replied that the angel had visited her and requested she pass on the message in order to help her father Jimmy Novak." Crowley pauses. "I assume you passed on such a message before you became a...gibbon was it?"

"Yes."

"And why did you not possess the girl?"

"Because she would have wanted to know what happened to her father and I did not have time to convince her to become my new host."

"So you chose to become a gibbon?"

"Angels only need permission to enter the bodies of humans. Other primates man be inhabited at will."

"I see," Crowley says, his grin returning. "You're a very fetching gibbon by the way - I bet all the laddies want a piece of you."

"I did not ask you here to taunt me," Castiel growls, or at least tries to growl using his new vocal chords.

"No?" Crowley replies as he crouches down beside Castiel's cage. "Then why did you ask me here?"

"Because I need your help."

"And why should I help you after you broke our deal and tried to smite me?"

"Because in time I will heal and regain my powers. Then you will have an angel in your debt and an allie against the Leviathans."

"How do you know I've not already allied myself with the Leviathans?"

"Because they are older than angels and perhaps even more prejudiced against my Father's other creations. They will never allie themselves with demons."

Crowley takes a minute to consider the proposition. He then makes a small gesture with his hand and the bars to Castiels cage groan as they are bent into a wide enough hole for the gibbon to climb through. He does, and quickly clambers up Crowley's proffered arm to sit on the demon's shoulder.

"I'm going to want this deal in writing as soon as you learn how to hold a pen," Crowley informs the gibbon as he stands and heads towards where he left his Hell Hound on guard.

"Of course," Castiel replies. Then, more quietly, "Thank you Crowley."

Crowley smirks as he scratches his Hound behind one of its giant ears. "I always wanted a pet monkey," he says before teleporting to Hell along with his Hell Hound and his new Angel-gibbon.

For Balthazar 'messing with the human scientists and art community' alone…

Awesome.

(And Cas makes a good gibbon.)
