Thursday - Rare pairings
Nov. 24th, 2011 06:30 pmFinal day today, and I must say that it's been fun. I'm
doreyg for the last time and today our theme is that good old favourite: Rare pairings!
Basically: any pairing so long as it's rare (Meaning: with barely any/no fic.) I leave it up to your discretion to decide what that means but if you and other people have prompted it on other days then that probably doesn't count.
The rules:
* Five prompts in a row, no more than three from one fandom and if you get a prompt filled you can leave a new one.
* No spoilers until a week after air-/publication date, if you're wondering if something's a spoiler it probably is.
* Follow the examples for correct formating:
Vampire Babylon, Dawn/Claudius, mirrors
Guardians of Time - Marianne Curley, Ethan/Lady Arabella, recovering
Greek myth, Hades/Demeter, summer days
Have fun for one last time!

Date: 2011-11-27 12:43 am (UTC)Then God walks into the bar.
It should’ve been the setup to a spectacularly bad joke, but at this point that’s pretty much what Bobby’s life has turned into, so maybe this is just a natural turn of events. He closes his eyes and lays his head in his hands but can hear when God approaches and settles in the stool next to him.
“Two,” he orders the bartender.
Bobby doesn’t want to admit that he feels better already. He doesn’t want to acknowledge the presence of the Almighty at all. He doesn’t want to contemplate that chances are good that if he’s drinking with God he’s no longer an active participant in the good fight back on Earth. He’s afraid that if he starts talking what will come out won’t be glory and praise, but anger, resentment and berating. He decides he’d be better off just keeping his mouth shut.
The bartender places two glasses on the bar and moves away. Bobby can’t help himself; he wants to see what God orders in a bar, so he picks up his head and opens his eyes. He lifts a brow in the direction of the Almighty.
“God walks into a bar and orders a Guinness?”
God simply shrugs.
Bobby reaches for the glass and takes a swig; Guinness is not his drink of choice, but when God’s picking up the tab you really don’t say no.
The longer Bobby sits next to God the less his head aches and the more he remembers. A pain takes up residence in his heart instead. “Those idjits never should’ve come in after me. They knew they were outnumbered and outmatched.”
God nods and looks like a guy who could relate. “Sometimes, even when they know better…boys just don’t listen.”
“Amen to that,” Bobby toasts. He raises his glass and God clinks his beer against the old hunter’s.
“I guess I should just be grateful they’re working together again,” Bobby muses.
“I wish mine would do that,” God responds wistfully.
Bobby shakes his head in sympathy knowing enough about the Lord’s rogue cohort of angels to relate. “Idjits,” he repeats.
They finish their drinks in companionable silence. Bobby figures he’ll order something a little stronger next and see if he can strong arm the Almighty into sending him back. Those boys can’t win this fight all alone.

Date: 2011-11-28 03:55 am (UTC)When they were young, Hades and Demeter went walking through a meadow.
"Will you be my queen?" Hades asked, handing her a bouquet of daisies and roses.
“No, my love,” she said. “I adore the sun too much to live in your realm of night.”
Hades gave her a sad smile and the walk continued.
(Persephone vanished from a meadow full of daisies and roses. A part of Demeter knew then.)
